Villarcayo approves 6,000 euros for the Agustín López association

The City Council of Villarcayo de Merindad de Castilla la Vieja has initially approved a direct grant of 6,000.00 euros in favor of the Agustín López association for the promotion of culture and music in the municipality. The agreement was adopted by the Plenary in an ordinary session held on August 13, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos, number 157, dated August 20, 2026, with reference BOPBUR-2026-03589.

The decision is part of the modification of the grant annex of the municipal budget, which incorporates this new direct aid to the cultural entity. The file is now subject to public information so that any interested party may examine it and submit allegations.

Period for Allegations

The agreement is processed in accordance with Article 169.1 of the revised text of the Law regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. The file remains open to the public for a period of fifteen days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the provincial gazette.

During this period, interested parties may:

  • Examine the file at the municipal offices of the City Council.
  • Consult it on the electronic headquarters of the council (villarcayomcv.sedelectronica.es).
  • Formulate any allegations they deem pertinent.

If no allegations are submitted after the period has elapsed, the agreement will be considered definitively approved.

Aid for the Cultural Life of the Merindades

The direct grant to the Agustín López association strengthens the associative and cultural fabric of the Merindades region, with a contribution destined for culture and music activities in the municipality. The file was signed in Villarcayo de Merindad de Castilla la Vieja on August 14, 2026, by the mayor, Adrián Serna del Pozo.

The measure is added to the municipal policy of support for non-profit entities, and its definitive approval will be conditional on the absence of allegations during the public exhibition period.
