Villaquilambre announces 20,000 euros in grants for maintenance and against energy poverty
Por FactBox Admin

The Villaquilambre City Council has opened two lines of economic benefits for the 2026 fiscal year: one destined for basic needs of sustenance, hygiene, and cleaning, endowed with 9,000 euros, and another for the energy supply of the primary residence, with 11,000 euros. Both were approved by the Local Government Board in an ordinary session on October 16, 2026, and are published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León number 208, dated November 3, 2026, with references BOP-LE-2026-208010 and BOP-LE-2026-208011. The application period is ten business days in both cases and begins the day following publication.
The two calls are supported by article 25.e of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, and are assimilated to the essential benefits of article 19.2.d) of Law 16/2010, on Social Services of Castilla y León. In both cases, the processing corresponds to the Department of Social Welfare and the granting to the Local Government Board, through competitive bidding until the credit allocated in budget item 08.23102.480.01 of the 2026 budget is exhausted. Both announcements bear the signature of the mayor, Vicente Álvarez Florez.
9,000 euros for sustenance, hygiene, and cleaning
The extraordinary call for sustenance is governed by the bases published in BOP number 131, of July 17, 2020, and covers the acquisition of basic food, hygiene, and cleaning products in situations of social urgency. The aid is deposited into a bank account provided by the applicant, with amounts fixed in brackets according to the size of the family unit:
- 50 euros for one-member units; 75 for two; 100 for three; 125 for four.
- 150 euros for five members; 175 for six; 200 for seven.
- 25 additional euros for each member from the eighth onwards.
Access requires not exceeding the income caps set using the 2026 IPREM as a reference, increased by 25% per member: from 600 euros per month for a single person (7,200 euros annually in twelve payments) up to 1,500 euros per month for seven members, with 150 euros more for each additional member. Income is computed net, and the aid is compatible with others of the same nature.
Up to 300 euros against energy poverty
The energy supply line is based on BOP number 163, of August 28, 2018, and BOP number 187, of October 6, 2020, and finances the expenditure for electricity, gas, or other fuel for the primary residence during 2026, with only one type of fuel per applicant. It is paid in a single installment and cannot exceed the effectively justified expenditure. The maximum amounts are 200 euros for households of one to two people, 250 euros for three or four, and 300 euros for five or more, with percentages of 100%, 75%, or 50% depending on the available income:
- Between one and two people: up to 682.16 euros of monthly available income.
- Between three and four: up to 842.16 euros.
- Five or more: up to 1,004.16 euros.
In the calculation, mortgages or rent are deducted up to a maximum of 300 euros per month, and payrolls, pensions, unemployment benefits, capital returns, compensatory pensions, and rental assistance are included.
One-year residency and ten business days
The grants may be requested by adults or emancipated minors registered in the municipality at least one year prior to the publication of the call, a requirement that allows for exceptions assessed by municipal social services; in the energy line, the case of victims of gender-based violence is expressly mentioned. It is also required that working-age members be registered as job seekers for six months, except for justified exceptions, and that the residence be the primary and permanent home within the municipal district.
Applications are submitted at the Municipal Registry, in the Plaza de la Constitución, or through the channels of article 38 of Law 39/2015. The maximum period for resolution is six months, with negative administrative silence, and the resolution is published on the notice board and on the municipal website. The maintenance aid must be justified with invoices within two months of the payment.
The two calls total 20,000 euros and arrive in the final stretch of the fiscal year, when municipal social credits are usually under the most pressure. For families in precarious situations in the municipality, the real margin for action is narrow: ten business days to gather documentation on income, residency, and supply receipts.
