Villanueva de los Infantes approves extraordinary credit of 120,227 euros

The City Council of Villanueva de los Infantes has definitively approved the credit modification file 12/2026, in the form of an extraordinary credit financed by the liquid treasury surplus for general expenses, for a total amount of 120,227.48 euros. The decision, adopted by the Plenary of the Corporation in an ordinary session on July 30, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 168, dated September 2, 2026, after the public exhibition period elapsed without any allegations being presented.

The agreement is processed under article 169.1, by referral of 179.4, of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. The file is listed under number INFANTES2026/5213 and corresponds to announcement number 2816 of the gazette.

Destination of funds

The extraordinary credit is distributed among three municipal actions, which are added to the final credits of the current budget:

• Covered padel court (application 342/62204, sports facilities): 107,104.34 euros.
• Addiction care and prevention programs (application 2314/22799, other social action): 5,082.00 euros.
• Facade renovation of the Camino Barranquillo building (application 3372/63206): 8,041.14 euros.

The total of the extraordinary credits amounts to 120,227.48 euros, which are financed entirely from the liquid treasury surplus resulting from the settlement of the previous financial year, through an entry in chapter 8, article 7, concept 000, of treasury surplus for general expenses.

Appeal period

Against the present agreement, and in accordance with article 171.1 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha within a period of two months starting from the day of the publication of the announcement, in accordance with article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.

The announcement appears signed by the Mayor-President, Carmen Mª Montalbán Martínez, and the document was electronically signed by the Head of Section of the B.O.P., Juan Luis Cuadros Campo, on September 1, 2026.

Impact for the municipality

The approval of this extraordinary credit represents a significant injection for the municipal coffers of Villanueva de los Infantes, as it allows for the undertaking of a newly created sports infrastructure, the reinforcement of social programs for addiction prevention, and the improvement of the condition of a municipal building. Since it is financed through treasury surpluses, the operation does not increase the council’s debt, which reinforces the financial sustainability of the planned investments.
