Villanueva de la Serena establishes the locations for electoral posters and banners
Por FactBox Admin

The Zonal Electoral Board of Villanueva de la Serena has established the locations where parties may place posters, banners, and streamers during the campaign for the elections to the Congress of Deputies and the Senate on the upcoming November 29, 2026. The list is published as announcement 4228/2026 in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 206, corresponding to Tuesday, October 27, 2026, within the Elections section. The document bears the signature of the Board’s secretary, María Elena Martín Plaza.
The legal framework for the reservation of spaces
The publication complies with the mandate of article 57.2 of the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime (LOREG), which requires electoral boards to order the insertion in the official provincial gazette of the public premises and places reserved for the campaign. The Zonal Electoral Board of Villanueva de la Serena itself was constituted on October 9, 2026, according to the minutes published in BOP number 196 on the 13th, under the presidency of Susana Calvo Gago, magistrate of the Court of First Instance of Don Benito.
The town halls of the district submitted their proposals for free-use spaces to the Board, which are now approved and disseminated for the knowledge of all candidacies. The call for elections derives from Royal Decree 805/2026, of October 5, regarding the dissolution of the Cortes and the call for elections.
Lamp posts, panels, and walls of public facilities
The list combines large-format supports on walls and panels with lamp posts and urban furniture. Some of the spaces with declared surfaces are:
- Campanario: exterior walls of the football field on Avenida Campo de Fútbol, 500 m²; exterior walls of La Laguna, 140 m²; walls of the public school on Avenida Constitución, 70 m²; boiler hut in La Calzada, 16 m²; and lamp posts in the Quintana road area.
- Zurbarán: exterior fence of the public school, 50 meters.
- Entrerríos: exterior fence of the football field, 50 meters, and of the public school, 20 meters.
- Valdivia: 18 panels of 70x50 centimeters on lamp posts of Avenida de las Palmeras.
- Orellana de la Sierra: panels on Calle Tejar and Calle Cruz de Mayo, with posters of 100x60 centimeters.
In Navalvillar de Pela, six panels are enabled (Calle Fuentes, Plaza de España, Avenida de la Constitución, Avenida Enrique Tierno Galván, municipal football field, and Plaza Reyes Huertas), supplemented by two in the hamlet of Obando and two in Vegas Altas. In Villanueva de la Serena, the panels are distributed among the Cruz del Río neighborhood, La Marina park, Plaza de Los Conquistadores, Plaza de Las Pasaderas, and the Los Pinos neighborhood.
Routes for streamers and vertical posters
Banners and vertical posters are concentrated on complete road axes of the region’s capital:
- Paseo de Castelar and avenida José Gallardo, from the Corazón de Jesús roundabout to the intersection with calle Hernán Cortés.
- Plaza Salamanca, calle Zújar and its surroundings.
- Barrio Cruz del Río: avenida de las Mayas and avenida Hernán Cortés, between the roundabouts of calle Cruz del Río, the Entrerríos road, and the Guadalupe road.
- Barrio Las Mimosas: avenida Puerta de la Serena, between the Mimosas roundabout and the Campanario road EX104 roundabout.
- Avenida Presidente Adolfo Suárez, from the EX104 roundabout to the Entrerríos road roundabout.
- Barrio Los Pinos: avenida Dulce Chacón, from the roundabout of the bridge over the tracks at Ronda de la Hispanidad to the entrance of the shopping center.
The remaining municipalities and smaller entities complete the list with varied supports: Acedera (bus stop on the Orellana road and culture house), Los Guadalperales (bus stop at the church square and municipal gym), La Coronada (lampposts on avenida Juan Carlos I and the Orellana road), La Haba (panels in front of the park, on the access road from the EX-346), Magacela (bus stop walls and retaining wall on calle Arroyo de la Fuente), Orellana la Vieja (municipal sports center, municipal park, plaza de Extremadura, public road flights and lampposts), Villar de Rena (containers, lampposts and facade of the former brotherhood plot), Puebla de Alcollarín (metal fence on the Santa Amalia road and bus stop) and Palazuelo (containers, lampposts, back of the street map, facade of the municipal warehouse and banners on calle Encina).
Electoral regulations prohibit the placement of propaganda in non-reserved areas, so this list delimits where each party can act without committing an infringement. With the campaign yet to begin, parties now have the complete map of free supports in the regions of La Serena and Vegas Altas to plan their outdoor advertising.
