Villamanín deconsecrates the school building on Parque Street

The Extraordinary and Urgent Plenary Session of the Villamanín City Council agreed on August 11, 2026, to initially approve the decommissioning (desafectación) of the public school building located at 7 Parque Street. The property, which is currently disused, changes its classification from a public domain asset to a patrimonial asset, which opens the door to its sale or a new use. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León, number 167, dated September 2, 2026, with the reference BOP-LE-2026-167006.

Decommissioning is the administrative procedure by which an asset ceases to be allocated to a public use or service and becomes part of the local entity’s patrimony. During this period, interested parties may submit any claims they deem appropriate to the council. Once the period has concluded, the Plenary must resolve the submitted allegations and, if applicable, definitively approve the decommissioning.
