Vilassar de Dalt calls for international cooperation grants for 2026

The Vilassar de Dalt City Council has opened the call for grants for international cooperation activities for the year 2026, aimed at financing projects organized by non-profit entities. The call and the specific bases were approved by Mayoral Decree no. 2026AJUN001985, dated August 27, 2026, and were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona on September 7, 2026 (pp. 1-18, CVE 202610137034).
The council wishes to appeal to the principle of solidarity between peoples and support the most disadvantaged countries in their development processes. The grants will be awarded under a competitive bidding regime, with a maximum total amount of €5,000.00, allocated to budget item 2602 231044800007 (International projects grant) of the municipal budget for the current fiscal year.
Purpose and eligible lines of action
The aid will be destined for projects developed in countries with a low or medium human development index, according to the classification of the United Nations Development Programme, as well as in areas affected by war conflicts or severe natural or humanitarian disasters. The eligible lines of action are:
- Education activities and projects: access to education, improvement of educational infrastructures, adult literacy, and professional training.
- Sanitation: water supply systems and basic sanitation infrastructures.
- Health and food security: reduction of infant mortality, sexual and reproductive health, and disease prevention.
- Fight against poverty and economic promotion.
- Awareness and education for development, migration, gender equality, environment, and human rights.
- Workshops and seminars for awareness and dissemination of cooperation projects.
Projects must be self-sustainable, incorporate a gender perspective transversally, carry out actions for the most vulnerable sectors, and promote sustainable ecological development.
Who can apply and how
Legally constituted non-profit entities with a registered office in Vilassar de Dalt, registered in the Municipal Registry of Entities, and up to date with tax obligations and Social Security may be beneficiaries. The grant may not exceed 75% of the total cost of the activity or project.
- The application submission period begins the day after publication in the BOPB and ends 15 business days later.
- Applications shall be submitted to the City Council’s electronic office, using the standardized form, the project report, and the corresponding responsible declarations.
- The maximum score is 100 points, with a minimum of 50 points for the project to be eligible, based on criteria of quality, management capacity, link to the municipality, objectives, and viability.
Deadlines and justification
The execution period for the subsidized projects runs from January 1 to December 31, 2026, and the subsidies must be justified before December 1, 2026, by means of a justification account. The resolution must be adopted within a maximum of three months from the closing of the submission period, and the grant will be published on the Transparency Portal and in the National Database of Subsidies.
The call is governed by Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, Royal Decree 188/2025, of March 11, which regulates subsidies in the field of cooperation for sustainable development, and the Corporation’s General Ordinance on Subsidies, published in the BOPB on September 9, 2021. The edict is signed by the mayor, Carola Llauró Sastre.
The call represents an opportunity for NGOs and entities in the municipality that develop cooperation and awareness projects, in a context where public funding for these actions is key to maintaining international solidarity and bringing the reality of other countries closer to the citizens of Vilassar de Dalt.
