Vila-seca destina 262.090 euros a subvencions per a clubs i esportistes

The Vila-seca City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona on September 28, 2026, the call for grants for associations and other non-profit sports entities and individual athletes of the municipality. The call, with official reference CVE 2026-08787 and identifier BDNS 930836, reserves a total allocation of 262,090.00 euros charged to budget item 3041.34100.48000. The application period opens the day after publication and ends on the last day of October.

The summary is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and the full text can be consulted in the National Database of Subsidies. The call is governed by the rules approved in the BOPT with CVE 2021-04208, of May 18, 2021, and by call 11486/2026. The competent body for the processing is the Area of Culture, Leisure and Knowledge, while the resolution corresponds to the Local Governing Board. The agreement was signed by the mayor Pere Segura Xatruch on September 21, 2026.

Six programs and allocation of the budget item

The amounts are distributed percentage-wise among six programs, with the possibility of transferring the remaining balance between them to exhaust the budget item:

  • Program A: promotion and development of sport, 50%.
  • Program B: quality sport, 15%.
  • Program C: inclusive and egalitarian sport, 5%.
  • Program D: sport, values and good practices, 5%.
  • Program E: sport for everyone, for athletes in a situation of economic or social difficulty, 22.5%.
  • Program F: individual high-performance sport, 2.5%.

The score for each program is calculated by dividing the assigned amount by the total points obtained by all applicants, and the grant awarded can never exceed the amount requested and subsequently justified.

Requirements for entities and athletes

Beneficiary entities must comply with the requirements of article 13.2 of Law 38/2003 and, among other conditions:

  • Be legally constituted, non-profit, and registered in the entities register of the Vila-seca City Council and the sports entities register of the Catalan Sports Council.
  • Have a board of directors with a minimum of three people recognized by the minutes of the general assembly.
  • Include at least one of the population centers of the municipality in the entity’s name: Vila-seca, La Pineda, or La Plana.
  • Be up to date with tax obligations, Social Security, and the City Council.

Individual athletes must be registered as residents of the municipality for a minimum of one year and, in the case of high performance, have recognition from the General Secretariat for Sport or the Higher Sports Council as a high-level or high-performance athlete.

Individual grants, incompatibilities, and deadlines

Grants for athletes in economic or social difficulty cover 80% of the justified expenditure on registration fees and dues, with a maximum of 650.00 euros per applicant, and 50% for federative licenses, mutual insurance, or school licenses, with a maximum of 400.00 euros. The maximum income of the family unit must be calculated according to the IRSC 2026 and ranges from 20,046.21 euros for one member to 34,364.93 euros for six or more members.

  • The subsidies are incompatible with other grants for the same concept from any administration or private entity.
  • The evaluation commission will be composed of a Sports technician, one from Youth and/or Education, and the head of the Area of Culture, Leisure, and Knowledge.
  • The deadline for resolution and notification is six months from the submission of the application.
  • Acceptance of the subsidy must be made in writing within ten days.
  • An administrative contentious appeal may be filed against the resolution within two months or, optionally, a request for reversal within one month.

The call for applications arrives with the sports season already underway and provides clubs, entities, and athletes in Vila-seca with a stable financing framework for promotion, inclusion, and high-performance projects. For small entities and families with fewer resources, direct grants for dues and licenses can be decisive in maintaining sports practice.
