Vigo appoints two industrial engineers as career civil servants

The Local Government Board of the City Council of Vigo has agreed to the appointment as career civil servants of two industrial engineers, charged to the vacant positions offered in the public employment offer 2020-2021-2022. The decision, adopted in the sessions of 7.8.2026 and 21.8.2026 (the latter to rectify an error), was published in the Official Gazette of Galicia number 163, of August 28, 2026, on page 46937.

The appointments fall within qualification group A, subgroup A1, Special Administration scale, technical subscale, by free turn. The announcement bears the official reference CVE-DOG: 2b5hmcj8-af69-0dm8-lg70-4pmi6pt53m56 and is publicized in accordance with the provisions of the bases of the selection process and current public service legislation.

The appointed persons

The two people who attain the status of career civil servants are:

• Camino Loureiro, C. (DNI *8286).
• Sobrino Balboa, J. L. (DNI *2904).

Both occupy industrial engineer positions assigned to the public employment offer of the 2020-2022 triennium, a technical position of local interest for the municipality.

Deadline for taking office

The interested parties must take office within one month from the publication of the appointment in the Official Gazette of Galicia. Failure to do so will result in them being declared in a ceased situation and, consequently, they will forfeit their right.

The document, signed in Vigo on August 21, 2026, is processed by delegation of the mayor. The agreement is signed by María Olga Alonso Suárez, delegated councilwoman for Linguistic Normalization, Education, Human Resources and Training, and Patricia Rodríguez Calviño, councilwoman for the Government Area of Security, Contracting, Festivals and Municipal Management, by virtue of the Mayor’s resolutions of 28.6.2024 and 25.9.2025 and the agreement of the Local Government Board of 7.11.2025.

Relevance for the municipality

The consolidation of these two technical positions reinforces the civil servant personnel structure of the City Council of Vigo in a high-qualification area such as industrial engineering, providing continuity to the public employment offers of the 2020, 2021, and 2022 fiscal years. The definitive filling of these posts represents a step forward in the stabilization of local public employment and in the technical capacity of the council to manage its services and projects.
