The City Council of Vielha e Mijaran has made public the list of beneficiaries and amounts of the grants awarded for the 2026 financial year, an agreement adopted by the Local Government Board on August 26, 2026. The distribution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Lleida no. 202, dated October 22, 2026, with the official reference BOP-2026_0_202_8812 (p. 1-1). Two entities in the municipality share a total of 4,220.98 euros.
A procedure opened in May
The award closes the process initiated with the call for grants from the City Council of Vielha e Mijaran for the 2026 financial year, which was published on May 22, 2026. The file containing the resolution is 838/2026, processed through the Local Government Board, the body that validated the distribution proposal at the end of August.
The announcement reaches the provincial gazette two weeks after the signing of the document by the mayor, Juan Antonio Serrano Iglesias, who electronically signed the publication on October 20, 2026. The official publication is the step that provides effectiveness and public dissemination to grants that until now only existed in the municipal administrative file.
3,535 euros for ice skating
The largest part of the allocation goes to the Club Espòrts Gèu, which receives 3,535.00 euros, 83.7% of the total granted. The purpose of the aid is to support activities, training, and figure skating competitions, both at the Palai de Gèu and in other locations nationwide, as well as the organization of championships and activities linked to this discipline.
- Club Espòrts Gèu (Val d’Aran): 3,535.00 € for figure skating activities, training, and competitions and the organization of championships.
- Associacion Aranesa peth patrimòni naturau: 685.98 € for activities and projects for the protection, study, and enhancement of the municipality’s natural heritage.
Conservation of natural heritage
The second beneficiary entity, the Associacion Aranesa peth patrimòni naturau, receives 685.98 euros, the remaining 16.3%. The stated purpose of the grant is to support activities and projects aimed at protecting, studying, and enhancing the natural heritage of the municipal district, as well as promoting citizen awareness about the importance of its conservation.
These are, therefore, two well-defined lines: one of a sporting nature with external projection —ice skating has a reference facility at the Palai de Gèu in the Val d’Aran— and another of an environmental and educational nature, focused on the territory.
Impact for the municipality
Publication in the provincial bulletin allows the beneficiary entities to officially learn the amount granted and begin the procedures for justifying the expenditure before the City Council. For readers, the announcement is the documentary evidence of how municipal discretionary resources are distributed among the local associative fabric: two entities, 4,220.98 euros, and a distribution heavily concentrated in grassroots sports activities.
