Viborg court cuts Vita Meyer Larsen unsecured debt to 20.7 percent

Skifteretten i Viborg has granted debt relief to Vita Meyer Larsen, cutting her unsecured debt to 20.7011% of its original value and spreading repayment over three instalments between 2027 and 2029. The ruling was issued on 7 October 2026 and published in Statstidende on 14 October 2026 under case number SKS 5-67/2026.

Debt relief (gældssanering) is a Danish insolvency procedure under the Bankruptcy Act (konkursloven) that lets an over-indebted individual have unsecured claims written down and settled over a fixed period, once the scheme is confirmed by the local bailiff’s court (skifteret). Statstidende, Denmark’s official gazette for legal announcements, published four such rulings on 14 October 2026, with write-down levels ranging from 12.13503% to 33.73540%.

The Viborg decision sits in the middle of that range. Creditors holding unsecured claims against Vita Meyer Larsen will recover roughly one fifth of what they were owed, and only in three annual instalments.

The terms set by the court

  • Debt covered: unsecured claims incurred by Vita Meyer Larsen before 22 April 2026.
  • Reduction: to 20.7011% of the original claim.
  • Instalments: 11.8351% on 1 November 2027, 4.4330% on 1 November 2028 and 4.4330% on 1 November 2029.
  • Claims that would yield only DKK 3,600 over the instalment period are disregarded, under § 216(2), 2nd-4th sentences, of the Bankruptcy Act and § 14 of the executive order on debt relief.
  • Debtor details: born 25 January 1952, resident at Kirketoften 16, Bjerregrav, 9632 Møldrup.
  • Case number: SKS 5-67/2026.

Creditors and the practical consequences

The announcement is signed in Viborg on 12 October 2026 by court-appointed assistant Tina Bach, advocate at Kompagnistræde 2, 8800 Viborg, acting on behalf of the Retten i Viborg. For creditors, the effect is a binding write-down: the bulk of each unsecured claim disappears, and recovery depends on the debtor completing the three instalments on the dates fixed in the ruling.

Unlike the notices opening new debt-relief proceedings, this ruling does not set a separate deadline for lodging claims. Creditors whose claims fall under the DKK 3,600 threshold are excluded from the scheme altogether and receive nothing.

  • Vita Meyer Larsen, 20.7011%, Skifteretten i Viborg, case SKS 5-67/2026.
  • Lene Eliasen, 12.13503%, Skifteretten i Hjørring, case SKS SKIF-189/2026.
  • Johnny Møller, 19.1572%, Skifteretten i Viborg, case SKS 5-112/2026.
  • Johnny Mariager, 33.73540%, Skifteretten i Hillerød, case SKS 3-186/2025.
  • Eleven notices opening new debt-relief proceedings also appeared that day, each giving creditors eight weeks to register and document their claims.
  • A creditor meeting in the debt-relief case of Haci Ömer Sari was scheduled for 1 December 2026 at 10:30 at Retten i Helsingør.

The case illustrates how Danish debt relief redistributes loss onto creditors: a claim of DKK 100,000 against Vita Meyer Larsen is reduced to DKK 20,701, paid in three instalments ending in November 2029. Creditors who fail to monitor Statstidende risk discovering the write-down only after the payment schedule has been fixed.
