Vialidad O'Higgins tenders the design of the La Puntilla bridge in Lolol

The Road Directorate of the Libertador General Bernardo O’Higgins Region, under the Ministry of Public Works, has called for a public tender for the engineering study destined for the construction of the La Puntilla Bridge, in the commune of Lolol. The notice was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chile No. 44,553, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, Section IV, under the official reference CVE 2871846. Technical and economic bids must be submitted no later than October 14, 2026, at 11:00 PM.

The call is channeled through the platform www.mercadopublico.cl and corresponds to a public tender convened by the regional Road Directorate, the executing unit of the national road network. The document is signed by the Regional Ministerial Secretary of Public Works of the Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins Region, the authority heading the process on behalf of the ministry.

Object and characteristics of the work

The study aims to carry out the detailed engineering design to allow for the construction of the La Puntilla Bridge, located on road I-570 in the commune of Lolol. The technical and administrative data recorded in the notice are as follows:

The submission of documents is carried out exclusively electronically, starting from the publication of the notice in the Official Gazette.

Process calendar

The schedule set in the terms and conditions organizes the different stages of the competition between September and October 2026:

• Inquiry period: until September 28, 2026.
• Response period: October 6, 2026.
• Closing of technical and economic bid reception: October 14, 2026, at 11:00 PM.
• Opening of technical bids: October 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM.
• Opening of economic bids: October 29, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

The call for bids comes at a time when rural connectivity in the province of Colchagua still depends on secondary roads, and the La Puntilla Bridge is among the road infrastructure works planned for the area. For consulting and construction companies registered in the MOP Contractors Registry, the process opens the option to be awarded a detailed engineering design with a term of 630 days, the first necessary step before the construction of the bridge can be tendered. The result of the economic opening on October 29 will define which proponent undertakes the study and, with it, the pace at which a connectivity project relevant to the residents of Lolol and the interior drylands of the region progresses.
