Velike Lašče set new kindergarten prices, repealing 2025 decision

The Municipal Council of the Municipality of Velike Lašče has adopted a new decision setting the prices of preschool programmes at the Sončni žarek kindergarten attached to the Primož Trubar Primary School Velike Lašče, repealing the previous decision on the same matter. The decision was published in the Uradni list Republike Slovenije (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia), issue No. 1394/2026 of 3 September 2026, under publication reference 2026-01-2054, and applies from 1 September 2026.

The decision was adopted at the council’s 25th regular session on 18 June 2026, on the basis of Articles 28, 28.a, 28.b and 31 of the Kindergarten Act (Uradni list RS, No. 100/05 – consolidated text, with subsequent amendments) and Article 17 of the Statute of the Municipality of Velike Lašče (Uradni list RS, No. 30/25). It was signed by the mayor, Matjaž Hočevar.

New monthly prices

The decision sets the monthly price of the daily programmes at the kindergarten, differentiated by age group:

• I. starostna skupina (first age group): 841.37 EUR per month
• II. starostna skupina (second age group): 673.82 EUR per month

The food costs included in these prices amount to 2.80 EUR per day. When a child is absent and does not attend the kindergarten, the price of the programme is reduced by the cost of unconsumed food, in proportion to the amount paid for the programme.

Reservation rules

The decision regulates the reservation of places for children who are temporarily absent. The Municipality of Velike Lašče co-finances reservations for children who, together with at least one parent, have permanent residence in the municipality and attend a kindergarten founded by the municipality.

• Parents may claim a reservation for holiday or health-related absence of up to 22 working days per year, in at most two parts, with a minimum absence of 10 working days.
• In exceptional circumstances beyond the parents’ control (longer hospitalisation, serious illness or injury of the child), an extraordinary reservation of 20 consecutive working days per year may be claimed.
• Parents pay the reservation at 50% of the value of the payment set by the decision determining the kindergarten fee, with the cost of unconsumed food already deducted.
• Holiday reservations must be announced in writing at least two weeks in advance; health reservations require a prescribed form and a medical certificate; extraordinary reservations are assessed individually by the Commission for the Admission of Children to the Kindergarten.

Reservations are only recognised for the child whose payment is not financed from the state budget. Parents residing in other municipalities whose children attend the Sončni žarek kindergarten may claim a reservation if the municipality obliged to cover the difference to the full programme price agrees.

Repeal and entry into force

With the entry into force of the new decision, the previous Decision on the determination of prices of preschool programmes at the Sončni žarek kindergarten at the Primož Trubar Primary School Velike Lašče (Uradni list RS, No. 47/25) ceases to be valid. The new decision enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette and is applied from 1 September 2026.

For parents, the update means a clear and current framework for kindergarten fees and reservation conditions, aligned with the applicable legislation and the municipality’s statute, providing predictability for families enrolling their children in the new school year.
