Velike Lašče set new kindergarten fees from September

The Municipal Council of the Municipality of Velike Lašče has set new monthly prices for the programmes of the Sončni žarek kindergarten at OŠ Primoža Trubarja Velike Lašče, effective from 1 September 2026. The decision was adopted at the council’s 25th regular session on 18 June 2026 and published in Uradni list Republike Slovenije, No. 1394/2026, of 3 September 2026 (publication reference 2026-01-2054).

The measure is based on Articles 28, 28.a, 28.b and 31 of the Zakon o vrtcih (Kindergarten Act, Uradni list RS, No. 100/05 and subsequent amendments) and on Article 17 of the Statut občine Velike Lašče (Uradni list RS, No. 30/25). It applies to all parents of children enrolled in the municipal kindergarten, including those whose children attend from other municipalities.

New programme prices

The monthly prices of the daily programmes are set as follows:

• I. starostna skupina (first age group): 841.37 EUR
• II. starostna skupina (second age group): 673.82 EUR

The food costs included in these prices amount to 2.80 EUR per day. When a child is absent and does not attend the kindergarten, the programme price is reduced by the cost of unconsumed food, in proportion to the amount paid for the programme.

Reservation rules

The decision also regulates reservations, which the Municipality of Velike Lašče co-finances for children who, together with at least one parent, have permanent residence in the municipality and attend a kindergarten founded by the municipality.

• Parents may claim a holiday or health reservation for a total of up to 22 working days per year, usable in at most two parts, with a minimum absence of 10 working days.
• In exceptional circumstances beyond the parents’ control (longer hospitalisation, serious illness or injury of the child), an extraordinary reservation of 20 consecutive working days per year may be used.
• Parents pay the reservation at 50% of the value of the payment set by the decision on the kindergarten fee, with the cost of unconsumed food already deducted.
• Holiday reservations must be announced in writing at least two weeks in advance; health reservations require a prescribed form and a medical certificate; extraordinary reservations are assessed individually by the Commission for the Admission of Children to the Kindergarten.

Reservations are granted only for the child whose payment is not financed from the state budget. Parents of children with permanent residence in other municipalities may claim a reservation if the municipality obliged to cover the difference to the full programme price agrees.

Entry into force

The new decision repeals the previous Sklep o določitvi cen programov v vrtcu Sončni žarek pri OŠ Primoža Trubarja Velike Lašče (Uradni list RS, No. 47/25). It enters into force the day after publication in the Official Gazette and applies from 1 September 2026. The document bears reference No. 0301-0017/2026-1 and was signed by the Mayor of the Municipality of Velike Lašče, Matjaž Hočevar.
