Valverde de Llerena opens the application period to award a vacant public housing unit
Por FactBox Admin

The City Council of Valverde de Llerena has opened the application period to award a vacant public housing unit in the municipality, which will be granted under a lease agreement through a valuation competition procedure. The call for applications is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 210, corresponding to Tuesday, November 3, 2026, under Announcement 4315/2026, and the application period runs from November 5 to November 30, 2026, both inclusive.
The opening occurs “following the communication” from the General Directorate of Public Housing Promotion and Maintenance, under the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport, and Housing of the Regional Government of Extremadura, according to the text of the announcement. The invoked regulatory framework is Decree 118/2006, of June 27, which regulates the award procedure for public housing in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.
The announcement is signed by the Acting Mayor, Yolanda Moreno Lancharro, and bears the date of the digital signature, although the gazette does not detail the address, surface area, or number of bedrooms of the offered housing. The implicit target of the call is families and family units registered in the municipality’s housing demand registry, as certification of that registration is the first of the required documents.
Documentation required from applicants
Applications shall be formalized using the official form, which can be collected at the City Council of Valverde de Llerena starting from the beginning of the application period, and must be accompanied by the following documentation, all of which must be duly certified:
- Certification proving registration in the registry of applicants.
- National Identity Document, passport, or residence or work permit of the applicant and of persons over eighteen years of age living with them.
- Family record book (Libro de familia).
- Historical census certificate (certificado de empadronamiento histórico), showing the actual residence times in the municipality of all members of the family unit.
- Documents proving the income level in accordance with article 8.2 of Decree 115/2006, of June 27: a certified copy of the IRPF (Personal Income Tax) return for the corresponding year or authorization for the regional administration to obtain tax data.
- Certificate from the Council of Extremaduran Communities in the case of emigrants wishing to return to their municipality of origin.
- Responsible declaration stating that no member of the family unit has been awarded public housing.
- Responsible declaration of the assets owned by the family unit or enjoyed under any other title.
- Original receipts of previous applications, stamped and registered, to prove seniority as an applicant.
- Property registry certificate of real estate in the name of the applicant and their family unit throughout Spanish territory; for applicants of non-Spanish nationality, a certificate from the registry or equivalent body of the country of origin, translated into Spanish.
- Criminal record certificate for members over eighteen years of age, using form 790.
- Certificate of coexistence of the family unit.
Where to apply and how it is evaluated
Applications shall be addressed to the General Directorate for the Promotion and Maintenance of Public Housing and submitted to the registry of the City Council of Valverde de Llerena during the enabled period, which begins on November 5 and closes on November 30, 2026.
The applicable evaluation criteria are those established in Annex II of Decree 115/2006, of June 27, which regulates the procedure for the allocation of public housing in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The announcement does not specify the number of expected applications nor the specific order of priority that will be applied, beyond the reference to that annex.
Impact on applicant families
The call directly affects families in Valverde de Llerena registered in the housing applicant registry, who have slightly less than a month to gather extensive documentation including several certificates that are slow to obtain, such as the historical census, property registry, and criminal record certificates. The warning that all documentation must be submitted as certified copies turns the process into a race against time for interested parties, who can only apply for a single vacant rental property.
