Por FactBox Admin

The Cabinet of Ministers, by Order No. 522, has decided to sell the state-owned real estate at 3 Lāčplēša iela, Riga. The decision was published in the September 4, 2026, issue No. 170 of Latvijas Vēstnesis (official publication number OP 2026/170).
Content of the Decision
The order provides for the alienation of state real estate in the center of the capital. Lāčplēša iela is one of the streets of Riga’s historical center; therefore, the transaction is a significant step in the management of state assets.

Context
In the same issue, the Cabinet of Ministers published several other orders related to the management of state and municipal real estate, including the sale by auction of the property “Radiotehnika-5 No. 221” in Ķekava parish (Order No. 523) and the transfer of the property “Vidzemes šoseja” in Garkalne parish to the ownership of the Ropaži Municipality (Order No. 525).
These decisions indicate another cycle of state asset management, in which the state both alienates unnecessary properties and transfers them to the disposal of municipalities.
Significance
The sale of the property at 3 Lāčplēša iela is part of the rationalization of the state’s real estate portfolio. The precise terms of the transaction — the method of sale, price, and buyer — are not reflected in the table of contents of the published issue; therefore, they will be available in the full text of the order.
