Valls convoca 20.000 euros en ajuts per a l'esport extraescolar

The Valls City Council, through the Municipal Sports Board, has opened the call for financial grants to promote extracurricular sports in the city’s educational centers during the 2025-2026 academic year. The call, approved by Presidency Resolution 159/2026, dated August 27, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Tarragona (BOPT) with the reference CVE 2026-08240.

The maximum total budget for the grants is 20,000 euros, charged to budget application 1.34100.48016.01. The granting process is handled under a competitive bidding regime, in accordance with the general grant bases of the Valls City Council published in BOPT no. 7730, on September 1, 2021.

Beneficiaries and requirements

The following entities may apply for the grant:

  • Public and subsidized primary and secondary educational centers in Valls, their parents’ associations (AMPA), sports sections, or school sports associations, provided they are non-profit and legally constituted.
  • Be registered in the Municipal Registry of Valls Entities.
  • Be up to date with tax obligations and Social Security, and not be a debtor to the local treasury.
  • Not incur any cause of incompatibility or prohibition under Article 13 of Law 38/2003, the general law on grants.

The subsidized activity must be developed at the same educational center (or outside only if considered essential), during extracurricular hours, on a non-federated basis and continuously. Occasional activities, those during school hours, summer sports activities, and those not related to physical activity and sport are excluded.

Deadline and submission

Applications are submitted electronically, using the “IG - general instance” procedure at the electronic office of the Municipal Sports Board. The deadline begins the day after the publication of the call in the BOPT and ends after one month.

The application must be accompanied by the responsible declaration (model DR 2026-01), the sports report with details of teams and athletes by gender, category, and level, the economic report of expenses and income, and the list of invoices and payment vouchers.

Evaluation criteria

The amount per entity will be proportional to the points obtained, without exceeding 15% of the total call amount or 80% of the cost of the activity. The following are evaluated:

  • The number of units (groups or teams) performing continuous extracurricular activity (5 prorated points).
  • The number of students performing it continuously (5 prorated points).
  • The number of registered students in relation to the total number of students enrolled at the center (up to 7 points).
  • Special difficulty: participation of people with special educational needs (up to 4 points), centers of special complexity (3 points), and the proportion of secondary school students (up to 3 points).

Eligible expenses include monitoring, licenses, refereeing, insurance, transport, accommodation, consumable sports equipment, and trophies or prizes. Gastronomic expenses, the ordinary operation of the entity, and inventoryable equipment are not eligible.

Resolution and publicity

The competent body to resolve is the presidency of the Municipal Sports Board, with a maximum term of six months and, in any case, before December 31. The resolution will be published on the notice board of the electronic headquarters of the Valls City Council, and an extract of the call will be disseminated in the BOPT and the National Subsidies Database (BDNS).

The call reinforces municipal support for physical activity during extracurricular hours, a key area for family reconciliation and the promotion of healthy habits among children and young people in Valls. AMPAs and school sports entities have one month to submit their applications.
