Valle del Jerte opens job bank for sports promoter

The Mancomunidad Integral de Municipios Valle del Jerte has approved the general bases that will govern the open competitive examination for the creation of an employment pool for sports coordinators, intended for the Extremadura sports revitalization program during the 2026-2030 period. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres number 0158, dated August 19, 2026, with official reference BOP-2026-3937.

The approval was formalized through resolution number 21 of the Presidency of the mancomunidad, dated August 13, 2026, signed in Cabezuela del Valle on August 14 by the president, Julián Elizo Muñoz. The bases are included as an annex to the announcement and are published for general knowledge, in addition to being disseminated on the entity’s electronic headquarters.

Stable employment for the region

The employment pool is part of the sports revitalization program promoted by the Junta de Extremadura for the 2026-2030 four-year period, and will allow the mancomunidad to cover the needs for coordinator personnel in the municipalities of the Valle del Jerte in an agile and orderly manner. The procedure is structured as an open competitive examination, meaning the selection combines the assessment of merits with the passing of tests.

The call is aimed at the creation of a job pool, an instrument that facilitates temporary hiring and the coverage of substitutions throughout the duration of the program, guaranteeing the continuity of sporting activity in the region.

Deadlines and appeals

The bases conclude the administrative route, therefore interested parties may alternatively file:

• Optional appeal for reversal, within one month from the day following the publication of the announcement, before the presidency of the mancomunidad, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure.
• Contentious-administrative appeal, within two months, before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Cáceres, in accordance with article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, of the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.

If the appeal for reversal is chosen, the contentious-administrative appeal cannot be filed until the former is expressly resolved or dismissed by silence, without prejudice to exercising any other appeal deemed appropriate.
