Valle de Arana definitively approves its 2026 budget

The Valle de Arana City Council has definitively approved its general budget for the 2026 fiscal year, for a total amount of 336,000.00 euros, as no claims or observations were filed against the initial approval agreement. The decision is published in the Official Gazette of the Historical Territory of Álava (BOTHA), number 98, dated August 28, 2026, with the official reference 2026-02490.
The approval is processed in accordance with Article 15 of Foral Norm 3/2004, of February 9, Budgetary for Local Entities of the Historical Territory of Álava. The document, signed by Mayor Larraitz Waliño Arana in Alda on August 21, 2026, includes the summary by chapters of the expenditure and income statements, as well as the annexes for remuneration and the list of job positions with budgetary allocation.
Expenditure and Income Statement
The budget balances expenditures and income at 336,000.00 euros. In the expenditure statement, the items for current goods and services and personnel stand out:
- I. Personnel expenses: 105,250.00 €
- II. Purchase of current goods and services: 171,750.00 €
- III. Financial expenses: 138.60 €
- IV. Current transfers: 46,450.00 €
- V. Global credit and other contingencies: 1,400.00 €
- VI. Real investments: 6,000.00 €
- IX. Financial liabilities: 5,011.40 €
In the income statement, financing is primarily supported by current transfers and direct taxes:
- I. Direct taxes: 82,000.00 €
- II. Indirect taxes: 8,000.00 €
- III. Fees and other income: 3,950.00 €
- IV. Current transfers: 238,050.00 €
- V. Asset income: 4,000.00 €
Remuneration of the Mayor and the Corporation
Annex I of the agreement sets the remuneration for the mayor’s office and the indemnities for the members of the municipal corporation:
- Mayor: 40 percent dedication of the working day, with a gross remuneration of 10,000.00 euros per year.
- Indemnity for attendance at plenary sessions: 80.00 euros.
- Indemnity for attendance at commissions: 35.00 euros.
Municipal Staff with Budgetary Allocation
Annex II contains the list of job positions with budgetary allocation for 2026, which includes two positions:
- Secretary-Comptroller (official with national authorization, Secretariat-Comptrollership sub-scale, group A1 or A2, level 26, specific supplement of €11,652.20, linguistic profile 3, mandatory from 06/20/2025). The position is listed as vacant and its destination is the Grouping of the City Councils of Lagrán and Valle de Arana, with a dedication of 40 percent of the working day.
- Administrative Assistant (active contractual staff, administrative category, group C1, level 19, specific supplement of €20,729.31, linguistic profile 2, mandatory from 08/04/2018). Their destination is the City Council of Valle de Arana, with a dedication of 100 percent of the working day.
With the publication in the official bulletin, the budget becomes final and executable for the current fiscal year, providing legal certainty to municipal management and to the residents of the valley, who thus become aware of the expenditure and investment items planned for 2026.
