Valenzuela de Calatrava formally approves the 500 euro wake fee

The City Council of Valenzuela de Calatrava has finalized the modification of the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the municipal cemetery, which sets the fee for the use of the wake room at 500 euros. The approval is made public in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real, number 177, dated September 15, 2026, page 8410, after no claims were filed during the public exhibition period.

The plenary agreement was adopted on February 20, 2026, and became final as no objections were registered during the public exhibition, which was carried out via insertion in the electronic notice board and in the Official Gazette of the Province, number 37, corresponding to February 24, 2026.

Regulatory Framework and Processing

The publication of the full text is carried out in compliance with Article 17.4 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5. The new wording incorporates a single article establishing the amount of the service:

• Article 6 of the ordinance: for the use of the municipal wake room, 500 euros.

The document, electronically signed, contains the corresponding Secure Verification Code and was signed by the Head of Section of the B.O.P., Juan Luis Cuadros Campo, on September 14, 2026.

Appeals and Deadlines

Against the agreement, pursuant to Article 19 of the Recast Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed before the High Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha within a period of two months from its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province, in accordance with Article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.

The agreement appears signed in Valenzuela de Calatrava on May 20, 2026, by the Mayor-President, Honorio Cañizares Nielfa, and corresponds to announcement number 2935 of the gazette.
