Valdepeñas opens 30-day period for objections to the waste collection tax

The Valdepeñas City Council has opened the public information period for the modification of the consolidated text of Fiscal Ordinance number 6, which regulates the waste collection fee. The municipal Plenary provisionally approved this change during its ordinary session on October 5, 2026, and the file is now on display for thirty days, according to the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real on October 23, 2026 (announcement number 3439).

The procedure complies with Article 17.2 of the Consolidated Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, which requires modifications to fiscal ordinances to be submitted for public information before their final approval. Therefore, the exhibition concerns the plenary agreement which is still provisional, not a text already in force.

The same plenary session on October 5, 2026, also provisionally approved the Fiscal Ordinance regulating the fee for the use of the municipal climbing wall, published in the same issue of the gazette under announcement number 3438 (page 10039). Both files thus follow an identical and simultaneous procedure of public exhibition.

The scope of the modification

The official announcement specifies that what has been approved is the modification of the consolidated text of Fiscal Ordinance number 6 and its own consolidated text; that is, the articles that establish the elements of the fee with which the City Council finances the municipal waste collection service.

Thirty days to examine and object

The public information period is thirty days and is counted from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province, meaning the count begins on October 24, 2026.

During this period, any interested party may examine the file at the municipal offices and submit any claims they deem appropriate. The announcement also indicates that the documentation is available on the City Council’s electronic office at the address https://sedeelectronica.valdepenas.es/.

Final approval if there are no claims

The published text specifies that, if no claims have been filed by the end of the period, the provisional agreement will be considered definitively approved, without the need for a new plenary pronouncement.
