Valdemanco opens a fifteen-day window for its permanent justice of the peace

The City Council of Valdemanco has opened the application period for candidates for the position of titular justice of the peace of the municipality. The call for applications was approved by Mayoral Decree No. 2026-0185, dated September 25, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) No. 238, dated October 6, 2026, with the official reference BOCM-20261006-60. The selected person will be proposed to the Governing Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Madrid for appointment as titular justice of the peace.

The call is based on articles 101 and 102 of Organic Law 6/1985, of July 1, of the Judiciary, and on articles 4 and 5 of Regulation 3/1995, of June 7, of the Justices of the Peace. The announcement is signed by the mayor-president, Luis Navarro García, in Valdemanco on September 28, 2026, and is disseminated for general knowledge within section III, Local Administration, of the provincial gazette.

Requirements for applicants

Interested parties must meet the conditions set by the call itself:

• Hold Spanish nationality.
• Be of legal age.
• Not be subject to any of the causes of incapacity under article 303 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary.
• Not be subject to the causes of incompatibility or prohibition under articles 389 to 397, except for the exercise of compatible professional or commercial activities.

Deadline, venue, and documentation

The application period is fifteen business days, counting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid, that is, from October 7, 2026. Applications, addressed to the Mayor’s Office, may be submitted through several channels:

• The City Council’s electronic office, at the address https://valdemanco.sedelectronica.es.
• The General Registry of the City Council, at Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Carmen, No. 1.
• Any of the places provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Along with the application, a responsible declaration of compliance with the requirements, a copy of the DNI (ID), and a negative criminal record certificate or authorization for its consultation must be provided. The application form and the full text of the call are available to interested parties at the electronic office and in the municipal offices, where information about the position may also be obtained.

Election by the Plenary if there are no candidates

The call contemplates the possibility that no applications are submitted. In that case, the Plenary of the Corporation will freely choose the person to be proposed for the position, in accordance with article 101.2 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary. The announcement closes with the warning that it is made public for general knowledge, without further formalities.

The position of justice of the peace is the judicial instance closest to the citizen in municipalities where there is no court of first instance. For the residents of Valdemanco, the call opens the possibility for a resident to assume functions of conciliation, civil registry, and judicial assistance at the local level, and sets a specific calendar to formalize candidacies before the City Council.
