Valdemaluque modifies its budget with treasury surplus
Por FactBox Admin

The Valdemaluque City Council has initially approved credit modification file no. 1/26 of the 2026 General Municipal Budget, an operation financed by the liquid treasury surplus. The agreement was adopted by the municipal Plenary in a session held on August 26, 2026, and is now published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria for public exhibition.
The decision is part of the ordinary management of the municipal budget and allows for the reorientation of already allocated items or the incorporation of new credits without altering the financial balance, by utilizing the available funds accumulated in the treasury. The edict, signed by Mayor Jesús Pascual Caamaño on August 28, 2026, is inserted in issue number 102 of the gazette, corresponding to September 2, 2026.
Public Information and Claims Period
The file is subject to public information for a period of fifteen business days, starting from the day following the insertion of the edict in the Official Gazette of the Province of Soria. During this period, any interested party may examine the file and submit any claims they deem appropriate.
- Period for allegations: 15 business days from the day following publication.
- Resolving body: Plenary of the Valdemaluque City Council.
- Initial approval date: August 26, 2026.
Effects of the Process
If no claims are made within the specified period, the credit modification will be considered definitively approved without the need for a new plenary agreement. Otherwise, the Plenary must rule on the allegations presented before the final approval.
The operation is carried out within the framework of the regulations governing local treasuries, which allow municipalities to finance budget modifications with the liquid treasury surplus when available resources exist.
Relevance for Residents
The credit modification directly affects the municipal economic management and, therefore, the services and projects that the Valdemaluque City Council plans to execute throughout the 2026 fiscal year. The use of the treasury surplus allows for meeting new needs or reinforcing existing items without resorting to debt, which conditions the investment capacity and current expenditure of the municipality for the remainder of the year.
