Valdelacasa de Tajo regulates the rates for its elderly residence

Por FactBox Admin

The Valdelacasa de Tajo City Council has initially approved the ordinance regulating the provision of its Elderly Residence and Day Center services, setting maximum rates of 1,200 euros per month per user in the residence and 600 euros per month in the day center. The agreement, adopted by the Plenary in an extraordinary and urgent session on August 24, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres (number 0166, of August 31, 2026) and is subject to public consultation for thirty days.

The regulation, processed as file no. 211/2026, is framed within Article 49 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, Regulating the Bases of the Local Regime, which regulates the approval procedure for local ordinances. This is a public non-tax asset provision; that is, a municipal service paid for by users that is neither a fee nor a tax.

Approved maximum rates

The ordinance establishes the maximum prices applicable to ordinary or open-access places for both services:

  • Elderly Residence: 1,200.00 euros per user per month.
  • Day Center: 600.00 euros per user per month.

These amounts constitute the initially approved ceiling, regarding which allegations may be submitted during the public exhibition period.

Public information and submission of allegations

The file will be available for a period of thirty days, counted from the day following the publication of the announcement in the provincial gazette. During this period, any interested person may examine the documentation at the municipal offices and on the electronic headquarters of the Valdelacasa de Tajo City Council, and submit any claims and suggestions they deem appropriate.

  • Period for allegations: 30 days from publication.
  • In-person consultation: municipal offices.
  • Online consultation: City Council electronic headquarters.

Final approval

In accordance with the adopted agreement, if no claims or suggestions are submitted during the public information period, the initial approval will be understood as definitively adopted, without the need for a new plenary agreement. In that case, the full text of the ordinance will be published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres.

The measure, promoted by the mayor-president Juan Antonio Orgaz Rodríguez, directly affects the users and families of the municipality’s elderly services, who will see the maximum prices for the residence and day center fixed by regulation, providing legal certainty and transparency to the provision of an essential service for the local elderly population.
