Valdastillas approves its municipal plan against forest fires

The Plenary Council of Valdastillas, in a session held on September 7, 2026, unanimously agreed to the approval of the Municipal Action Plan against the Risk of Forest Fires (PAMIF) within the municipal district. The agreement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres, number 177, dated September 16, 2026, via an edict signed by the mayor, José Ramón Herrero Domínguez.

The approval is a response to the fact that Valdastillas is listed among the municipalities classified as a specific high-risk zone under regional regulations, which mandates the implementation of this prevention and response instrument.

A Key Instrument for Prevention and Response

The PAMIF serves as the municipal reference instrument for the preparation, prevention, and response to the risk of forest fires. Its objective is to ensure the municipality’s integration into the public Civil Protection system and coordination with higher-level plans.

Public Information and Period for Allegations

The plan is subject to public information for a period of thirty business days, starting from the publication of the announcement in the official gazette. During this period, interested parties may examine the document and submit any claims they deem appropriate.

The text will be available to interested parties on the electronic office and the City Council’s transparency portal. Should no allegations be submitted, the plan will be considered definitively approved.

Relevance for the Municipality

The approval of the PAMIF represents a decisive step in reinforcing the security of Valdastillas against one of the most serious natural risks in the province, in a municipality expressly categorized as high specific risk. Citizen participation during the public information period will allow the plan to be adjusted to the actual needs of the territory before its final approval.
