Por FactBox Admin

The Ministry of Health, Families, Autonomy and People with Disabilities has published in the Official Journal of the French Republic (JORF No. 0206 of September 4, 2026) a vacancy notice for 26 positions of director of health, social, and medico-social establishments, reserved for student directors who have completed their training. Applications must be submitted no later than October 8, 2026, under the official reference NOR SFHN2623483V.

These positions are offered in application of Articles 5 and 17 of Decree No. 2007-1930 of December 26, 2007, as amended, regarding the special status of the corps of directors of health, social, and medico-social establishments of the hospital public service, which provide for the publication of corresponding positions in the Official Journal.

Recruitment across the entire territory

The vacant positions cover about twenty departments, from Ain to Haute-Vienne, with a strong presence in the Southwest and East of France. Among the concerned establishments are notably:

  • EHPAD résidence Docteur Perret (Ain);
  • EHPAD La Résidence de l’Ourcq, EHPAD de l’Hôtel Dieu, and EHPAD Résidence le Grand Bosquet (Aisne);
  • the Joint Management of public EHPADs CANTAZUR (Cagnes-sur-Mer) and LA VENCOISE (Vence) (Alpes-Maritimes);
  • EHPAD “Pierre Guilbaud” (Creuse) and EHPAD “Les Roches” PONTAUMUR (Puy-de-Dôme);
  • EHPAD “Marquaire” de Mutzig (Bas-Rhin) and EHPAD d’Argonne (Meuse);
  • EHPAD de Chalon-sur-Saône and EHPAD Intercommunal de Saint-Germain-du-Plain (Saône-et-Loire).

Each position is the subject of a detailed sheet in the annex of the notice, specifying the description of the establishment, the director’s missions, and the sought-after profile.

Management positions in a transforming sector

The job descriptions reflect heavy management challenges for future directors. For example, the joint management of the CANTAZUR and LA VENCOISE EHPADs groups two establishments across three sites, totaling approximately 250 beds, and is part of the PERF EHPAD national medico-economic performance scheme. The EHPAD résidence Docteur Perret (Ain) has 91 permanent accommodation beds, a 14-place PASA (non-medicalized reception unit), and a 31-place SSIAD (integrated home care service).

The expected missions focus on strategic and financial steering, change management, social dialogue, the development of territorial cooperation, and the modernization of establishments. Management experience and the leadership of a health or medico-social establishment are generally appreciated.

Application procedures

Candidates must submit a file consisting of a curriculum vitae and a cover letter:

  • to the regional health agencies (ARS) where they are applying;
  • to the national management center by email at cng-mobilite-d3s-chef@sante.gouv.fr, for which an acknowledgment of receipt will be sent.

Applications must be received no later than October 8, 2026. In application of Article 5 of Decree No. 2007-1930, appointments are made by the Director General of the National Management Center, following hearings with the candidates and the opinions of the general directors of the ARS or the directors in charge of social cohesion, after consultation with the presidents of the deliberative assemblies and taking into account the candidates’ choices.

A strong impact for the medico-social sector

This notice illustrates the scale of the recruitment needs for senior executives in public EHPADs (nursing homes), which are facing demographic, financial, and organizational challenges. For student directors at the end of their training, it constitutes an opportunity to access responsible management positions across the entire territory, in a sector undergoing complete transformation.
