Vélez-Málaga approves the specifications for kiosks and beach services for 2026-2028

The Vélez-Málaga City Council has approved the Specifications (Pliego de Condiciones) that will govern the awarding of the municipality’s Seasonal Beach Services, intended for the operation by third parties of bar-kiosks, terraces, sun loungers and umbrellas, and espeteros (sardine skewers stalls) during the 2026-2028 terms. The announcement, dated July 27, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) no. 207, of October 26, 2026, with the official reference PP. 1663/2026 and text no. 11155. The insertion occupies a single page of the gazette.

The announcement appears in section 5.2, “Other official announcements,” under the City Councils heading, on page 12 of the summary of issue 207. This is, therefore, the official communication of the approval of the specifications by the Vélez council, not the award resolution, which will correspond to a subsequent step once the procedure is concluded.

Specifications for three consecutive seasons

• Bar-kiosks, light catering establishments located in the maritime-terrestrial public domain.
• Terraces, including the outdoor seating areas annexed to those establishments.
• Sun loungers, the rental service of loungers on the sand.
• Umbrellas, the rental of parasols and shading elements.
• Espeteros, facilities intended for the preparation and sale of espetos.

The enumeration thus covers both catering and the rental of beach furniture, two distinct sources of income within the municipality’s summer economy.
