University of Almería announces grants of up to 300 euros for languages
Por FactBox Admin

The University of Almería has announced the UAL-Junta de Andalucía Grants for the promotion of the acquisition and accreditation of linguistic competencies in Undergraduate degrees during the 2025/26 academic year, with amounts of up to 300 euros per grant. The call is published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) no. 189, of September 29, 2026, through the Resolution of September 22, 2026, of the University of Almería, and the deadline for submitting applications ends on October 15, 2026.
The extract reproduces the Resolution of the Vice-Rectorate for Students establishing the bases of the call, published in accordance with articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17. The full text can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database, where the call appears with the identifier BDNS (Identif.): 931033. The resolution appears in section 1, General Provisions, Universities section, with the official reference 00343830 and text no. 12600.
Three grant modalities
The grants are grouped into three modalities, depending on the level and language accredited:
- Modality A: acquisition and accreditation of the linguistic competence required to obtain the Undergraduate Degree in a first foreign language at level B1 or higher.
- Modality B: acquisition of linguistic competence in a first foreign language at level B2 or higher, when the student has already accredited the competence required for the degree.
- Modality C: acquisition of linguistic competence in a second foreign language at level B1 or higher, when the student has already accredited the competence required for the degree.
Students of the University of Almería who are enrolled, or who have had their academic record open, in an Undergraduate degree of the institution in the 2025/26 academic year and who meet the requirements of article 2 of the call may participate.
Amounts and method of granting
The amount of each grant is variable and its maximum is 300 euros, and a single applicant cannot obtain more than two grants in the same academic year. The amount is determined based on the actual expenditure incurred to obtain the linguistic competence and exclusively covers enrollment fees for training courses and accreditation exam fees, regardless of the date on which said accreditation was obtained.
Modality A is granted on a non-competitive basis, while modalities B and C are granted on a competitive basis. The grants are allocated from the general funding of the University of Almería included in the 2026 Budget, the allocation of which will be determined by the Vice-Rectorate for Students.
How and when to apply
The application is completed using the form accessible electronically under the Student Utilities > UAL Scholarship option of the University of Almería Virtual Campus (http://campus.ual.es), which is accessed using the institution’s own agreed password system.
The application period opens the day after the publication of the summary in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía and extends until October 15, 2026. The resolution was signed in Almería on September 22, 2026, by the Rector, José Joaquín Céspedes Lorente.
The call for applications reaches Undergraduate students of the University of Almería at the very start of the 2025/26 academic year, with a margin of barely two weeks to gather the documentation and submit the application. The retroactive nature of the subsidizable expense allows for the claim of aid for certifications already obtained, while the limit of two grants per year and the maximum of 300 euros per application limit the economic scope of a measure aimed at reducing the barrier posed by the cost of official language exams and courses.
