A regional youth delegate position to be filled in Orléans

A position for a regional academic delegate for youth, engagement, and sports (DRAJES) is available starting October 1, 2026, within the ministries in charge of national education and sports, youth, and community life. The vacancy notice, published in the Official Journal of the French Republic No. 0207 on September 5, 2026, under reference NOR PRMG2623471V, was issued by the services of the Prime Minister. The position is held under the rector of the academic region of Centre-Val de Loire, with the place of assignment located in Orléans.

A State management position

In application of article R. 222-16-6 of the Education Code, the regional academic delegate assists the rector of the academic region on issues relating to youth, popular education, community life, civic engagement, and sports. They exercise authority over the regional academic delegation – departmental service of Loiret, whose duties are established by Decree No. 2020-1542 of December 9, 2020.

The position belongs to Group III of the management positions of the State’s territorial administration, as established by the Order of December 8, 2025, and Level 4 of the State’s senior positions. The conditions of employment and recruitment are governed by Decree No. 2019-1594 of December 31, 2019, relating to State management positions.

Remuneration and terms of appointment

The gross annual remuneration depends on the holder’s experience and is broken down as follows:

  • a gross fixed portion between €39,461 and €81,935;
  • a gross variable portion, depending on functions, constraints, and expertise, set by regulation between €36,000 and €63,000;
  • a possible annual indemnity supplement, paid in a single installment, based on performance.

The term of appointment is four years, renewable up to a total duration of six years, with a probationary period of six months. For individuals appointed for the first time, support modules for taking office are provided within six months following the appointment.

Desired profile and procedure

Candidates must demonstrate confirmed experience in supervising and managing multidisciplinary and interministerial teams, professional experience in the field of youth and sports, as well as a successful track record in managing complex projects and negotiating social dialogue.

The recruiting authority is the Secretary General of the ministries in charge of national education and sports, youth, and community life. The position falls under the authority of the Rector of the Centre-Val de Loire academic region, Rector of the Orléans-Tours academy. The review of applications is carried out by a collegial body composed of the Rector of the academic region, a representative of the management directorate, and an Inspector General of education, sport, and research. Preselected candidates are interviewed by the Rector of the academic region and the Regional Prefect. Access to the position is subject to a declaration of interests and, where applicable, a declaration of assets prior to appointment.
