One million in grants to boost the Way in the Holy Year 2027

The Galician Tourism Agency published in the Official Gazette of Galicia the Resolution of August 13, 2026, which announces the grants awarded under the O teu Xacobeo program, with a total budget of one million euros divided into two lines. The call, of a multi-annual nature for 2026-2027, finances dozens of projects for the revitalization and promotion of the Camino de Santiago, of interest to SMEs, freelancers, and cultural entities.

The grants are awarded under a competitive bidding process under the Resolution of March 6, 2026, which establishes the regulatory bases of the program (procedure code TU300A). The publication complies with the provisions of article 15.1 of Law 9/2007, of June 13, on grants in Galicia, and article 17 of Law 1/2016, of January 18, on transparency and good governance.

Two lines of aid

The call is structured into two lines according to the typology of the beneficiaries, funded from the Agency’s budgets for the year 2026:

Line 1 (application 04.A2.761A.770.0): €700,000 for self-employed individuals, legal entities of a mercantile or civil nature, and communities of assets that are considered small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Line 2 (application 04.A2.761A.781.0): €300,000 for public or private non-profit entities.

Among the beneficiary SMEs and freelancers are projects of a cultural, musical, sporting, and gastronomic nature along the different Jacobean routes:

Beneficiaries of Line 2

In the line for non-profit entities, the grants are distributed among associations, federations, and clubs from all over Galicia:

Federation for the Equality of Women of the province of Pontevedra — Femupo, women who make a path (16,000.00 €)

The resolution, signed in Santiago de Compostela by the director of the Agency, José Manuel Merelles Remy, publicizes the result of the granting process both in the official bulletin and on the turismo.gal website. For SMEs, freelancers, and Galician cultural entities, this program represents a direct funding opportunity for projects that reinforce the tourist and cultural offer around the Way of St. James leading up to the holy year of 2027.
