Por FactBox Admin
The Provincial Council of Burgos has opened the call for grants intended for the execution of urgent and emergency actions on municipal assets, infrastructures, and facilities in the province, with a maximum budget of 1,000,000 euros distributed between the 2026 and 2027 fiscal years. The summary of the agreement, adopted by the Governing Board on August 13, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Burgos number 163, dated August 28, 2026, with reference BoPBur-2026-03650.
The call, identified as CUyE Agua/2026 and registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier 925087, is processed through the Agriculture, Livestock, Forests, and Water Service of the Provincial Council. Its publication is in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17.
Beneficiaries and Purpose
Local entities in the province of Burgos with a population of fewer than 20,000 inhabitants may be beneficiaries. The grants partially finance actions of an extraordinary, urgent, or emergency nature necessary to repair, restore, secure, or maintain the functionality of assets, infrastructures, facilities, or equipment under municipal ownership, or those assigned to local public services, when they have been damaged by unforeseen situations of urgency, emergency, force majeure, serious risk, or unavoidable necessity.
Priority in the evaluation will be given to actions related to the integrated water cycle, when the incident affects the continuity, security, quality, or sufficiency of the supply, or municipal hydraulic infrastructures necessary for essential services.
Amount and Distribution
The budget is distributed over two annual periods:
- €500,000 charged to the 2026 fiscal year (budgetary application 48/1600/76201/6.1), for actions carried out between January 1 and September 30, 2026.
- €500,000 charged to the 2027 fiscal year, for actions between October 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027, subject to the existence and adequate and sufficient allocation of credit.
The maximum amount per beneficiary local entity shall in no case exceed 15,000 euros.
Deadlines and Submission
The application submission period remains open from the day following the publication of the summary, through the National Grants Database. Two selection procedures are established:
- First procedure: deadline until October 1, 2026.
- Second procedure: deadline until April 1, 2027.
Entities may submit an application in each procedure, provided that each refers to actions from its respective eligible period and that the sum of the grants awarded to the same entity in both does not exceed 15,000 euros. The full guidelines, annexes, and documentation are available on the electronic office of the Provincial Council of Burgos. The agreement appears signed in Burgos on August 14, 2026, by the secretary general, José Luis M.ª González de Miguel.
The call represents a direct reinforcement for the small municipalities of the province, which lack their own resources to tackle urgent repairs following emergency episodes. The priority given to the water cycle underscores the commitment to guaranteeing supply and essential services in the rural areas of Burgos.
