UFD submits the expropriation of two plots in Coristanco for public information

The Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Xunta de Galicia is submitting for public information the request from UFD Distribución Electricidad, S.A. to obtain the prior and construction administrative authorizations and the declaration of public utility for an electrical energy distribution installation in the municipal district of Coristanco. The agreement of the Territorial Department of A Coruña, signed on October 22, 2026, by the territorial director Isidoro Martínez Arca, was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña (BOP) number 205, corresponding to Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with announcement reference 2026/6883 and file number IN407A 2026/262-1. The declaration of public utility implies the necessity of occupying the affected assets and involves the urgent occupation of the lands, therefore the owners of the listed plots have 30 days to file objections.

Two new supports and 182 meters of conductor

The objective of the project is the regulation of the medium voltage line LMT CBA807, through the replacement of two supports in the municipality of Coristanco. According to the technical documentation, one of the supports presents structural damage, while the other is being replaced due to non-compliance with the minimum vertical distance of 6 meters relative to the adjacent support.

The planned actions are as follows:

• Replacement of the concrete support 9RFX718X//62-35-11-A-5, structurally damaged, with a lattice metal support C-1000/16-T35/180, named Pr.5.
• Replacement of support 9RBBALBJ//62-35-11-A-6 (HV-400/13-CR1) with another lattice metal support C-1000/16-T35/180, named Pr.6.
• Change of the 182-meter section of overhead conductor LA-30 mm² to conductor LA-56 mm² between supports Pr.5 and Pr.6.
• Installation of an XS type expelling disconnector on the new lattice support Pr.5, for the protection of the outdoor transformation center CTI 15AEA6 “Figueroa-Coristanco”, of 50 kVA.

Two affected plots in the annex

The agreement incorporates an annex with the specific and individualized list of assets and rights considered necessary for expropriation, limited to two rural plots in the municipal district of Coristanco:

• Plot 1: area Agra do Rio, cadastral reference 15029A048000380000DL, rustic agricultural crop, owner María Luz García García; land affection in full ownership for support number 5, with an area of 2.0 m².
• Plot 2: area Chousa Vella, cadastral reference 15029A048000300000DH, rustic agricultural crop, owner José Castro Vázquez; land affection in full ownership for support number 6, with an area of 2.0 m².

The announcement is expressly addressed to the owners of the properties appearing in the attached list, as well as to the holders of real rights or economic interests over the affected assets who may have been omitted.

Thirty days to examine and object

The technical documentation is available to interested parties at the offices of the Energy Section of the Territorial Department of the Ministry of Economy and Industry of A Coruña, at Vicente Ferrer street, number 2, second floor, 15071 A Coruña. The consultation hours are from 9:00 to 14:00, Monday to Friday, and the file may also be examined on the municipal notice board. Furthermore, the agreement refers to the ministry’s Transparency and Open Government Portal for electronic consultation.

Allegations or observations must be submitted within a period of 30 days, counting from the day following the final publication of this agreement.

Legal framework of the expropriation

The procedure is based on article 56 of Law 24/2013, of December 26, of the electricity sector, which links the declaration of public utility to the need for occupation of assets and their consideration as urgent occupation for the purposes of article 52 of the Forced Expropriation Law of December 16, 1954. The instruction is completed by Royal Decree 1955/2000, which regulates the authorization procedures for electrical energy installations, by Law 9/2021, of February 25, on administrative simplification and support for the economic reactivation of Galicia, and by the Resolution of February 19, 2014 of the ministry, which approves the administrative authorization procedure for construction. Law 39/2015 and Law 40/2015, regarding the common administrative procedure and the legal regime of the public sector, also apply.

The publication directly affects a rural area of Coristanco in which the replacement of damaged supports and the increase of the conductor section seek to guarantee the continuity of the electricity supply. For the owners of the two plots, the period for allegations is the only opportunity to state their position before the occupation is executed via urgent procedure.
