Turkey approves public prices for its gymnastics and pilates studios
Por FactBox Admin

The Turcia City Council has established the public prices for the “Sports and Health Classrooms 2026-27” program: 50 euros per participant for the three maintenance gymnastics classrooms and 75 euros per participant for the pilates classroom. The agreement was adopted by the Municipal Plenary in the session of September 24, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León no. 191, of October 7, 2026, with the references BOP-LE-2026-191006 (gymnastics) and BOP-LE-2026-191007 (pilates).
The file is being processed with a view to requesting the grants called for by the Provincial Council of León aimed at city councils and neighborhood boards of municipalities in the province with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants, with the purpose of promoting the organization and development of sports activity programs. The Council notes that the cost of these activities is not fully covered by the income from said grants, hence the approval of the fees.
Both agreements were approved in an ordinary vote by six votes in favor, zero against, and zero abstentions, and bear the signature of the mayor, José Luis Casares García, in Turcia on October 1, 2026.
Three maintenance gymnastics classrooms at 50 euros
The Plenary declared the public and social interest of the maintenance gymnastics activity for the adult population, considering that it facilitates healthy lifestyle habits regarding physical exercise and the maintenance of adequate physical conditions for daily life, in addition to bringing the activity closer to the residents of the municipality.
The approved conditions are as follows:
- Three maintenance gymnastics classrooms will be organized in the towns of Armellada, Gavilanes de Órbigo, and Turcia.
- Sessions will be taught two days a week in each of them.
- The fee will be 50 euros per participant.
One pilates classroom in Palazuelo de Órbigo at 75 euros
In the second agreement, the Plenary likewise declared the public and social interest of the pilates activity for the adult population included in the same program, with identical motivation: its cost is not covered by the resources generated by the approved public prices and the activity promotes residents’ access to physical exercise habits.
The conditions in this case are:
- One pilates classroom will be organized in Palazuelo de Órbigo.
- Sessions will be taught two days a week.
- The fee will be 75 euros per participant.
Payment, refunds, and appeal process
The public prices of the program will be required during registration for the requested activity. There shall be no right to a subsequent refund of the fee due to withdrawal, except in the case of a medical prescription or instructions from the instructor advising against the performance of the activity, provided this occurs within the first two weeks of the start of the program. When the service or activity is not provided or developed due to causes not attributable to the party obligated to pay, the corresponding amount shall also be refunded.
An administrative appeal may be filed against both agreements before the Administrative Litigation Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León within two months starting from the day following the publication of the announcement, in accordance with Article 112.3 of Law 39/2015 and Article 46 of Law 29/1998.
The publication of these agreements closes the procedure for establishing and requiring public prices and enables their effective application during the 2026/2027 course. For the residents of Turcia, Armellada, Gavilanes de Órbigo, and Palazuelo de Órbigo, it means knowing the exact cost of enrolling in sports activities aimed at the adult population and partially supported by funds from the Provincial Council of León.
