Turís approves its meteorological pre-emergency protocol

The Turís City Council has definitively approved the Protocol of Actions and Measures based on pre-emergency levels for adverse meteorological phenomena in the municipality. The announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Valencia, number 172, dated September 8, 2026, with the official reference 2026/10938, on page 4 of the issue.

The definitive approval closes the administrative process of the document, which establishes the municipal framework for action in the event of rain, wind, or other adverse phenomena. The protocol sets the measures that must be activated based on the declared pre-emergency level, with the aim of organizing the response of municipal services and protecting the population.

A local civil protection instrument

The protocol is part of the civil protection policy of Valencian municipalities, which must have action plans and protocols for meteorological emergencies. With this approval, Turís provides itself with its own instrument that specifies, on a local scale, the guidelines for action in response to warnings from the State Meteorological Agency and the Generalitat Valenciana.

The document, approved by the municipal plenary, establishes a gradation of measures according to pre-emergency levels, such that each stage activates specific prevention, information, and response actions.

Measures according to the alert level

The protocol organizes actions based on the intensity of the meteorological phenomenon, with progressive measures that include:

• Warning and communication to the population through municipal channels.
• Reinforcement of cleaning, maintenance, and public works services in the event of rain or wind.
• Coordination with security and emergency services.
• Monitoring of risk areas, such as ravines, riverbeds, and water accumulation points.
• Suspension or adaptation of outdoor activities at the highest levels.

Relevance for neighborhood safety

The entry into force of the protocol reinforces Turís’s capacity to respond quickly and in an orderly manner to adverse meteorological episodes, which are increasingly frequent in the Valencian Community. For residents, it represents a guarantee that the municipality has a clear and predictable action procedure, from the warning phase to emergency management, aimed at minimizing risks and damages.
