Three municipalities of Guadalajara close their budgets for 2026

Por FactBox Admin

The Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara (No. 160, of August 21, 2026) publishes the budgetary procedures of three municipalities in the province for the 2026 fiscal year. Castejón de Henares and Villaseca de Henares are submitting their general budgets for public exhibition for fifteen days, while Valdearenas declares its budget definitively approved as no objections were filed.

The three files are processed in accordance with Article 169 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 2/2004, of March 5, and Article 20 of Royal Decree 500/1990, of April 20, which regulate the approval and exhibition of municipal budgets.

Public exhibition in Castejón de Henares

The Plenary of Castejón de Henares, in an ordinary session on June 30, 2026, initially approved the General Budget, the Execution Bases, and the staff list of civil service, labor, and temporary personnel for 2026. The file remains open to the public for a period of fifteen days from the publication of the announcement for the purpose of claims and objections.

  • The document may be examined at the municipal offices and on the entity’s electronic headquarters.
  • If no claims are presented within the period, the budget will be considered definitively approved.
  • The announcement is signed by the mayor, Carlos Piña Barbero, on August 14, 2026.

Villaseca de Henares opens the same procedure

In parallel, the Plenary of Villaseca de Henares initially approved its General Budget, Execution Bases, and staff list for the 2026 fiscal year on June 30, 2026. The file is likewise exhibited for fifteen days so that interested parties may formulate any objections they deem appropriate.

  • The documentation is available at the municipal offices and on the electronic headquarters.
  • Once the period has elapsed without claims, the budget will be definitively approved.
  • The announcement is signed by the mayor, Rafael Nova Bueno, on August 14, 2026.

Valdearenas definitively approves its budget

Valdearenas has definitively approved its general budget for 2026 as no objections were presented during the exhibition period. The agreement is published for general knowledge and is accompanied by the municipality’s staff list:

  • Secretary-Auditor, as an interim civil servant.
  • Laborer, as labor personnel.

The approval may be challenged before the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction in accordance with Articles 170 and 171 of the Revised Text of the Law Regulating Local Treasuries, although the filing of the appeal will not by itself suspend the effectiveness of the agreement. The announcement is signed by the mayor-president, Tomás D. Gómez Esteban, on August 19, 2026.

With these procedures, the three municipalities of the province of Guadalajara face the 2026 fiscal year with their municipal accounts in order: two of them in the allegations phase and one with the budget already in effect. Publication in the official bulletin guarantees transparency and the right of residents to know and challenge the economic management of their city councils.
