Trasierra definitively approves its municipal forest fire plan

The Plenary of the Trasierra City Council definitively approved the Municipal Action Plan for Forest Fire Risk (PAMIF) in its ordinary session on September 17, 2026, after receiving a favorable report from the civil protection commission of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The agreement concludes the administrative process and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 184, corresponding to Friday, September 25, 2026, under Announcement 3682/2026. With this, the municipality in the province of Badajoz provides itself with its own instrument for prevention and response to the risk of forest fires.

The plan is approved under Decree 32/2023, of April 5, which regulates the Registry of Civil Protection Plans of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura and establishes the structure, minimum content, approval regime, maintenance, and implementation of these instruments. The publication of the agreement is also carried out in accordance with Article 45 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Trasierra, a municipality of 590 inhabitants according to the population data handled by the Provincial Council of Badajoz in its calls published in the same gazette, thus joins the series of city councils in the province that in recent weeks have completed the processing of their respective PAMIFs, including Villarta de los Montes, Retamal de Llerena, Higuera de la Serena, Garbayuela, Cabeza la Vaca, and Puebla de Obando.

Approval by the Plenary and Civil Protection Report

The Plenary of the Corporation, in an ordinary session held on September 17, 2026, agreed to the definitive approval of the PAMIF of Trasierra, following a favorable report from the civil protection commission of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The document serves as the municipal reference instrument for the preparation, prevention, and response to the risk of forest fires within the municipal district.

The agreement is signed by the Mayor-President, Jesús Santos Herrojo, and is made public “for general knowledge,” according to the text of the official announcement.

Consultation of the File and Registration in the Regional Registry

Once approved, the plan will be promoted for registration in the Registry of Civil Protection Plans of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura, in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned Decree 32/2023.

The file and the full text of the plan remain available to interested parties at the municipal offices of the Trasierra City Council. It can also be consulted on the municipal electronic office at the address http://trasierra.sedelectronica.es.

Two-month period to appeal before the TSJ of Extremadura

An administrative appeal may be filed against the agreement, which exhausts the administrative route, before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court of Justice of Extremadura, located in Cáceres.

• Deadline: two months starting from the day following the publication of the announcement.
• Applicable regulations: articles 10 and 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, regulating the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.
• All of this without prejudice to the fact that interested parties may exercise any other appeal they deem appropriate.

The final approval of the PAMIF provides Trasierra with a formal framework for action in the event of forest fire emergencies and organizes the prevention, warning, and response tasks within the municipal district. For the residents, it means having a known and consultable protocol, in addition to opening the legal period to challenge it before the courts if they consider it appropriate.
