Por FactBox Admin

The Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Las Palmas has approved special traffic regulation measures for the feast of the Virgen del Pino, which will be celebrated on September 7, 8, and 13, 2026, and for which a large influx of people and vehicles is expected on public roads. The resolution, signed by the provincial chief, Eva Canitrot Vázquez, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas number 106, dated September 4, 2026, on page 15494.
The measure is adopted for reasons of road safety, mobility, and traffic flow, in accordance with the provisions of Article 5, sections k) and n), and Article 16 of Legislative Royal Decree 6/2015, of October 30, as well as Articles 37 and 39 of the General Circulation Regulations, approved by Royal Decree 1428/2003, of November 21. The announcement, registered under number 1811226, affects five roads in the north of the island, which are traversed every year by thousands of drivers and pilgrims heading to the basilica of Teror.
Closures and one-way traffic on the GC-21
The GC-21 road, in the section between Tamaraceite and Teror, will be the most affected. Traffic will be closed from 7:00 PM on the 7th until 2:00 AM on September 8, between kilometer points 1+600 and 13+000.
- One-way traffic Tamaraceite-Teror: from 07:00 to 19:00 hours on the 7th; from 02:00 to 15:00 hours on the 8th; and from 07:00 to 15:00 hours on the 13th.
- Bicycles are prohibited from 09:00 hours on the 7th until 15:00 hours on the 8th, in the same section.
Restrictions on GC-43, GC-219, and GC-432
The GC-43 will operate one-way Teror-Arucas from 07:00 hours on the 7th until 15:00 hours on the 8th, and from 07:00 to 15:00 hours on the 13th, between kilometer points 10+950 and 0+500. The GC-219 will remain closed to traffic from 19:00 hours on the 7th until 02:00 hours on the 8th, between the Miraflor roundabout (pk 0+000) and the intersection with the GC-21 (viaduct roundabout, pk 2+955).
- One-way traffic on the GC-219 from the Miraflor roundabout to the viaduct roundabout: from 07:00 to 19:00 hours on the 7th; from 02:00 to 15:00 hours on the 8th; and from 07:00 to 15:00 hours on the 13th.
- The GC-432 will operate one-way from the intersection of the GC-21 with the GC-432 towards the GC-43, from 22:00 hours on the 7th to 06:00 hours on the 8th.
One-way traffic on the GC-303
The GC-303 will operate one-way Arucas-Teror from 07:00 hours on the 7th until 15:00 hours on the 8th, and from 07:00 to 15:00 hours on the 13th, between kilometer points 3+677 and 0+000.
The festivities of the Virgen del Pino, patron saint of Gran Canaria, gather tens of thousands of faithful every year in Teror, necessitating a special mobility plan on the access roads. Drivers traveling to the north of the island during those three days must anticipate detours, one-way schedules, and the prohibition of cycling, and should consult the signage and information panels of the General Directorate of Traffic.
