Por FactBox Admin

The Torrevieja City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante (number 174, dated September 14, 2026) the call for the granting of aid to families for school supplies and computer equipment aimed at Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education students for the 2026-2027 academic year. The call, identified by number 6957 and with BDNS (Identif.) 928601, is processed under a competitive bidding regime and can be consulted in its entirety in the National Grants Database.
The measure, signed on August 31, 2026, by Mr. Domingo Paredes Ibáñez (by virtue of delegation from the Local Government Board on July 28, 2023), is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17. Its purpose is to promote equal opportunities, support family units at the start of the school year, and reduce the economic impact of acquiring the resources necessary for educational activity.
Beneficiaries and requirements
Beneficiaries may be the parents, guardians, or legal representatives of students enrolled in the 2026/2027 academic year in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Compulsory Secondary Education, in public or subsidized educational centers. Students of legal age may act in their own name.
To obtain beneficiary status, the following requirements must be met:
- Both the student and their parents or legal representatives must be registered (empadronado) and reside in Torrevieja with a minimum seniority of two years prior to the end of the application period.
- Be enrolled in the 2026/2027 academic year in the indicated educational levels, accredited by a certificate from the educational center.
- Not be subject to the circumstances of article 13.2 of the LGS 38/2003, via a responsible declaration.
- Be up to date with tax obligations, Social Security, and the City Council.
- Have no pending justification for grants previously awarded by the City Council.
In the event of separation or divorce, the requirements will be demanded only from the parent with the care and custody of the minor.
Amount and evaluation criteria
The amount of the aid is variable and may reach a maximum of 200 euros per student, and in no case may it exceed the expenditure actually incurred and justified. The individualized amount is determined based on the per capita income of the family unit and the score obtained according to the scale established in the guidelines.
The assessment of applications primarily considers the family per capita income and other socio-family circumstances. If the available credit is insufficient to meet all applications that fulfill the requirements, the maximum global amount will be prorated among the beneficiaries, in accordance with article 22.1 of the LGS 38/2003.
Deadline and method of submission
Applications shall be formalized using the standardized form, available on the municipal website (www.torrevieja.es) in the Grants and Subsidies section, and should preferably be submitted electronically through the City Council’s electronic office, using the Cl@ve platform identification systems (digital certificate, Cl@ve PIN, or Cl@ve Permanente). They may also be submitted through the means specified in article 16.4 of the LPACAP 39/2015.
The submission period will be twenty (20) business days, counting from the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP of Alicante. The application must be accompanied by documentation such as the DNI/NIE, the family book, the enrollment certificate, the 2025 income tax return (IRPF), the tax imputation certificate from the AEAT, the IBAN account number and, where applicable, the official disability certificate. An independent application must be submitted for each student.
Impact for families
The call for applications arrives at the very start of the school year and may benefit thousands of households in Torrevieja by partially financing the costs of school and computer materials for educational use. As this is a competitive grant with prorating in case of insufficient credit, interested families are recommended to submit their application as soon as possible and gather the supporting documentation for income and enrollment to obtain the maximum score on the scale.
