Torremenga aprueba su plan municipal frente a incendios forestales

The Torremenga City Council has definitively approved the municipality’s Municipal Action Plan against the Risk of Forest Fires, in an extraordinary plenary session held on September 9, 2026. The agreement, which concludes the administrative process, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres, number 0174, dated September 11, 2026, in Section I of Local Administration.

The decision was adopted and signed by the mayor, Nuria Mateos Periánez, on September 10, 2026. The document is available to residents on the notice board of the municipal electronic headquarters.

Regulatory framework and scope of the plan

The plan is framed within the regulations for civil protection and emergency prevention, making Torremenga one of the municipalities in the province with its own action tool against forest risk. Its definitive approval marks the culmination of the administrative procedure initiated with the prior processing of the document.

The text regulates the municipal organization and response to forest fires, including the mobilization of resources, coordination with extinction services, and prevention and self-protection measures for the population.

Appeals against the agreement

Against the definitive approval, which exhausts the administrative route, interested parties may file the following appeals:

  • Optional appeal for reversal (recurso de reposición) before the same body that issued the agreement, within one month from the day following publication, in accordance with articles 123 and 124 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure.
  • Contentious-administrative appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Cáceres, within two months, according to article 46 of Law 29/1998, of July 13, of the Contentious-Administrative Jurisdiction.
  • Any other appeal deemed more appropriate, without prejudice to the above.

Consultation and relevance for the municipality

The plan can be consulted directly on the notice board of the city council’s electronic headquarters, at the address torremenga.sedelectronica.es. With this approval, the municipality has a key operational instrument for the prevention of and response to forest emergencies, in a territory of high risk due to its natural environment.

The entry into force of the plan reinforces the capacity for local coordination with extinction devices and improves the population’s preparedness for possible fires, a determining factor for the safety of residents and the protection of the area’s forest heritage.
