Torremayor aprueba inicialmente su plan municipal ante inundaciones

The Torremayor City Council has initially approved the Municipal Action Plan for Flood Risk in Torremayor (PAMIN Torremayor), a civil protection instrument intended to prevent and manage emergency situations caused by flash floods in the municipality. The decision was adopted by Plenary agreement in an ordinary session held on August 26, 2026, and its announcement is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Badajoz number 173, dated September 10, 2026 (announcement 3557/2026).

The plan is now subject to public consultation for a period of thirty days, starting from the day following the insertion of the announcement in the gazette, so that any interested party may examine it and submit any claims they deem appropriate. The processing complies with the provisions of articles 49 and 70.2 of Law 7/1982, of April 2, regulating the bases of the local regime.

Consultation and Allegations

During the exhibition period, the PAMIN Torremayor may be examined by any interested person at the municipal offices of the City Council. The document will also be available to citizens on the notice board of the council’s electronic headquarters, accessible at the address https://torremayor.sedelectronica.es/board.

  • Period for allegations: 30 days from the day following the publication in the BOP.
  • Location for in-person consultation: municipal offices of the Torremayor City Council.
  • Location for electronic consultation: notice board of the municipal electronic headquarters.

Final Approval

The regulations provide that, if no claims are submitted during the aforementioned period, the plan shall be understood as definitively approved without the need for a new agreement. In this way, the procedure is conditioned upon citizen participation during the public exhibition phase.

The announcement appears signed by the Mayor-President, Manuel Estribio Sánchez, in Torremayor, as of the date of the digital signature.

Relevance for the Municipality

The approval of the PAMIN Torremayor provides the municipality with an action framework for one of the most relevant natural risks in the province of Badajoz, where the flooding of watercourses can affect urban centers and agricultural areas. With this plan, the City Council establishes the protocols for alert, coordination, and response to flooding episodes, reinforcing the safety of residents and the reaction capacity of municipal services. Citizen participation in the public information process is key to ensuring that the final document responds to the real needs of the territory.
