Torrejón del Rey subvenciona 18 plazas de guardería con 11.000 euros

The Torrejón del Rey City Council has announced grants to fund 18 nursery places at the “El Cole de los Pekes” Early Childhood Education Center for the 2026-2027 academic year, with a maximum total amount of 11,000 euros. The call, approved by Mayoral Resolution of September 24, 2026, is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara No. 195, of October 13, 2026, with the identifier BDNS 934538. Interested families have 10 business days from the publication of the summary to submit their applications.

Regulatory Framework and Origin of the Call

The grants are governed by the regulatory bases approved by agreement of the Governing Board in an extraordinary session on September 18, 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Guadalajara No. 182, of September 24, 2026. The call is supported by articles 17.3 and 20.8.a of the General Grants Law 38/2003, of November 17, and the full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database (call 716235).

The purpose of the measure is to regulate access to and coverage of subsidized places at the aforementioned center due to the absence of a public municipal center in the town, promoting equal opportunities and addressing social, economic, and family circumstances. Funding is provided by budget item 320/480, endowed with a maximum credit of 11,000 euros for the 2026 fiscal year.

Requirements, Amounts, and Deadlines

Parents, guardians, or foster parents of children who meet the following requirements may apply for the aid:

  • Not exceeding three years of age as of December 31, 2026.
  • Using the nursery service between September 2026 and July 2027.
  • Not exceeding a per capita income of 1.75 times the IPREM of 2026, set at 7,200 euros annually without extraordinary payments and 8,400 euros with them.

The individual amount amounts to 10 euros per month per daily hour of attendance, with a maximum of 80 euros per month and a cap of eleven monthly payments, subsidizing only full months. The submission period is 10 business days from the publication of the summary in the BOP, in accordance with article 6.2 of Royal Decree 130/2019, of March 8.

Documentation and Evaluation Scale

Applications shall be addressed to the Mayor and submitted at the City Council’s entry registry or through any of the means specified in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1. They must be accompanied, among others, by the following documents:

  • Photocopy of the complete family record book (libro de familia) or birth certificates.
  • Photocopy of the DNI, NIE, or passport of the parents or guardians.
  • Income tax return of all adults in the family unit.
  • Collective census certificate (volante colectivo de empadronamiento) to prove cohabitation.
  • Supporting documents for situations eligible for points according to the scale.

The assessment is carried out by a Scaling Commission composed of a president who is a career civil servant, the City Council Secretary, and two members. The scale awards 10 points for situations of risk or helplessness and for a minor’s disability equal to or greater than 33%, 3 points for single-parent families or serious illness of a parent, and up to 10 points based on per capita income. The resolution is issued by the Governing Board within 15 days from the submission of the proposal.

Impact for families

The call for applications arrives after the school year has already started and with the window open for only ten business days; therefore, families with children under three years old registered in Torrejón del Rey must quickly gather the supporting documentation. The measure mitigates the lack of a public nursery school in the municipality and strengthens financial support for lower-income households, who receive a higher score on the scale.
