Torredonjimeno provides a 3,000 euro subsidy for the permanent hiring of unemployed persons

Por FactBox Admin

The Torredonjimeno City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén the call for grants to incentivize the permanent hiring of unemployed persons registered in the municipality, with aid of up to 3,000 euros per full-time contract. The total allocation amounts to 40,000 euros and the application period will remain open until November 15, 2026.

The call, identified in the National Grants Database with the code BDNS 926883, was signed on July 23, 2026, by the mayor-president, Enrique J. Castro Tárraga, and is published in issue number 169 of the gazette, corresponding to September 1, 2026 (pages 13204 and 13205).

Beneficiaries and purpose of the aid

Private companies, regardless of their legal form, including self-employed workers and private non-profit entities, may apply for these grants, provided they permanently hire unemployed persons registered in the municipality. Groupings of natural or legal persons, communities of assets, and any economic unit without its own legal personality are excluded.

The purpose of the guidelines is to incentivize the permanent hiring of local unemployed persons, admitting contracts formalized between November 16, 2025, and November 15, 2026. The regulation is framed within the Execution Guidelines of the 2026 municipal Budget, the Municipal Ordinance on Grants, and Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Grants, along with its Regulation approved by Royal Decree 887/2006.

Amounts by contract type

The grant is awarded per person hired for 12 months; therefore, the beneficiary must maintain the employment relationship for at least that period. The amounts are as follows:

  • Full-time permanent contracts: 3,000 euros (250 euros per month), to subsidize salary, social security, and other concepts of the first year.
  • Part-time permanent contracts: 1,500 euros (125 euros per month).
  • Contracts with hours between both cases: proportional amount; contracts for less than half-time are not subsidized.

The aid will be granted charged to budget application 241.470.00 of the 2026 Budget, endowed with 40,000 euros, and grants cannot be awarded for an amount exceeding this maximum limit. Subsequent modifications to the contracts that increase the working hours will not increase the granted subsidy.

Deadline and method of submission

The application period opens from the publication of the summary in the Official Provincial Gazette and ends on November 15, 2026. Submissions should preferably be made by electronic means through the City Council’s electronic office (http://tosiria.sedelectronica.es/), and shall be exclusively electronic in the case of legal entities.

The execution period coincides with the first 12 months of the indefinite contracts, and the justification for the aid must be submitted within three months following the end of said period, via the Expenditure Justification Account under the terms of the specific bases and Article 18 of the Municipal Subsidy Regulatory Ordinance.

The call represents a direct incentive for local employment in a municipality with a notable presence of small businesses and freelancers, who may offset part of the wage cost of the first year of hiring. With an allocation of 40,000 euros, the program allows for the financing of up to thirteen full-time contracts, a significant opportunity to reduce unemployment among the registered residents of Torredonjimeno.
