Torredelcampo publishes 213 applications for the children's book voucher 2026/2027

The Mayor-President of the Torredelcampo City Council (Jaén), Javier Chica Jiménez, has issued Decree no. 2026-1931, of 31 July 2026, approving the provisional lists of accepted and excluded applicants for the book voucher for the 2026/2027 school year. The announcement is published in BOP of Jaén no. 158, of 17 August 2026, in the Local Administration section, with reference BOP-2026-3730, page 12,740.

The initiative responds to a municipal aid programme aimed at families with limited financial resources whose children are enrolled in public early childhood education centres in the municipality — nursery schools (ages 0, 1 and 2) and early childhood education (ages 3, 4 and 5) —. The governing rules were approved by Mayoral Decree no. 2026-1573, of 16 June 2026, and their extract was published in BOP of Jaén no. 116, of 18 June 2026, as well as on the municipal website and the electronic notice board.

Figures and provisional list

According to the decree, during the 15 working-day application submission period, a total of 213 requests were registered. The approved resolution — identified as PR/2026/2191, of 31 July 2026 — provisionally lists the accepted and excluded applicants, indicating in the latter case the specific reason for each exclusion. The predominant reasons among those rejected are failure to meet the income requirement, lack of documentation relating to the income of other members of the family unit registered at the address, and the absence of an income certificate for the partner.

Requirements to be a beneficiary

To access the book voucher, applicants must be fathers, mothers or legal representatives of minors enrolled in publicly funded centres in Torredelcampo and meet at least one of the following conditions:

• Be part of families at risk of social exclusion who are users of social services, accredited by means of a municipal certificate.
• Be women victims of gender-based violence with dependent children, whose net income does not exceed the interprofessional minimum wage, accredited by means of a certificate from the women’s centre.
• Have annual net income that does not exceed the thresholds established by number of countable members: €11,000 for two members, €14,000 for three, €17,000 for four, €20,000 for five, €24,000 for six, €28,000 for seven and €33,000 for eight, with an additional €3,536 for each member from the eighth onwards.

In addition, it is an essential requirement that all members of the family unit are registered as residents in the municipality of Torredelcampo and that no other study aid is received from any public administration.

Correction period and appeals

The resolution grants a period of 10 business days, counted from the day following publication in the BOP de Jaén —that is, from 18 August 2026— for interested parties to correct remediable deficiencies in their documentation or submit claims, in accordance with Article 68 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. Once this period has elapsed, the resolution with the final lists will be issued and published on the municipal website www.torredelcampo.es and on the notice board of the City Council.

Calculation of family income

The determination of family income for scholarship purposes is carried out by aggregating the income of each of the computable members of the family unit. For those declaring income for the 2025 tax year, box 435 (general taxable base) and box 460 (savings taxable base) are added together. In the event of no obligation to pay tax, gross annual income minus social security contributions is counted. Children with a recognised disability of 33% or higher count as two members for the purposes of the income threshold.

The announcement was signed in Torredelcampo on 31 July 2026 by the mayor Javier Chica Jiménez, who also orders its publication on the corporate website http://www.torredelcampo.es/, on the electronic notice board and on the City Council’s notice board. This study aid programme constitutes a key tool for reducing educational inequality in the municipality, ensuring that families with fewer resources can access the textbooks necessary for the schooling of their children in the initial stages of the education system.
