Torrecom requests to install a telecommunications monopole in Estación Central
Por FactBox Admin

The company Torrecom Chile Limitada requested the Undersecretariat of Telecommunications to modify its Intermediate Telecommunications Service concession to install, operate, and exploit a monopole tower at Vista Hermosa 94, commune of Estación Central, Metropolitan Region of Santiago. An abstract of the request was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chile No. 44,553, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, Section II, under reference CVE 2871999. Interested parties may oppose within 30 business days from the date of that publication.
The petition seeks to modify the Intermediate Telecommunications Service concession—which solely provides physical infrastructure for telecommunications—granted to the firm by Supreme Decree No. 10 of 2021, from the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications. The abstract, identified as 26-SP85292, was disseminated in accordance with Article 15 of Law No. 18,168 of 1982, the General Telecommunications Law, a regulation that mandates the publication of these requests so that third parties may file an opposition. The processing has been assigned to the Concessions Division of the Undersecretariat.
Characteristics of the projected tower
The project contemplates a single support structure for radiating systems, with the following published specifications:
- Holder: Torrecom Chile Limitada, RUT No. 77.009.569-7.
- Concessionaire’s address: Av. Presidente Riesco No. 5335, office 404, commune of Las Condes, Metropolitan Region of Santiago.
- Name of the installation: Kaufmann Pajaritos-Estación Central.
- Type of support: circular steel monopole.
- Location: Vista Hermosa 94, commune of Estación Central, Metropolitan Region of Santiago.
- Geographic coordinates: those listed in the abstract, in Datum WGS 84.
Deadlines and opposition process
The abstract sets maximum execution deadlines, all referring to the date of publication in the Official Gazette of the decree authorizing the modification:
- Start of works: 2 months.
- Completion of works: 23 months.
- Start of service: 24 months.
The opposition must meet formal requirements:
- Be submitted in writing to the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications.
- Be reasoned and accompanied by all evidence proving the invoked facts.
- Establish a domicile within the urban radius of the commune of Santiago.
- Deadline: 30 business days from the publication of the abstract.
Company background
The request joins other recent authorizations from the same concessionaire. The Official Gazette No. 44,542, dated Friday, September 4, 2026, published exempt decree No. 578, which authorized Torrecom Chile Limitada to install a monopole tower named Radal, in Freire, La Araucanía Region (reference CVE 2864876), and exempt decree No. 655, which incorporated physical infrastructure already authorized in Quilicura (reference CVE 2864882). In both cases, the process was resolved without oppositions.
The extract was disseminated by order of the Undersecretary of Telecommunications, signed by Steven Andrés Wilson Pavez, Head of the Concessions Division (S).
The publication opens a limited period for neighbors, municipalities, operators, and other interested entities to review the project and, if they deem it appropriate, challenge the modification before the Ministry. If no oppositions are presented, the Undersecretary may issue the decree authorizing the modification and, consequently, the installation of the monopole, whose construction and commissioning deadlines will begin to run from the publication of that act.
