Torrecom Chile pide instalar una torre monoposte en Estación Central

The company Torrecom Chile Limitada requested the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications to modify its Intermediate Telecommunications Service concession to install, operate, and exploit a monopole tower at Vista Hermosa 94, in the commune of Estación Central. The request was published this Thursday, September 17, 2026, in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Chile, under extract 26-SP85292 (CVE 2871999), and from that date, a period of 30 business days begins to file oppositions.

The publication is made in accordance with Article 15 of Law No. 18,168 of 1982, the General Telecommunications Law, which requires public notice of concession modification requests so that any interested party may challenge them. The process is led by the Undersecretariat of Telecommunications, through its Concessions Division, which depends on the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications.

The concession sought to be modified was granted by Supreme Decree No. 10 of 2021, from the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, and corresponds to an Intermediate Telecommunications Service that solely provides physical infrastructure for telecommunications. The applicant, Torrecom Chile Limitada, has RUT 77.009.569-7 and is located at Av. Presidente Riesco No. 5335, office 404, commune of Las Condes, Metropolitan Region of Santiago.

What the requested modification comprises

Extract 26-SP85292 specifies that the modification aims to install, operate, and exploit one (1) telecommunications tower intended to support radiating systems. The data recorded in the publication are as follows:

  • Purpose: install, operate, and exploit one (1) telecommunications tower to support radiating systems.
  • Extract reference: 26-SP85292 (CVE 2871999).

Technical characteristics of the tower

The technical detail of the projected infrastructure, as it appears in the extract published by the Concessions Division, is as follows:

  • Name: Kaufmann Pajaritos-Estación Central.
  • Structure: circular steel monopole.
  • Height: 47.5 meters.
  • Location: Vista Hermosa 94, commune of Estación Central, Metropolitan Region of Santiago.
  • Geographic coordinates: recorded in the extract according to the WGS 84 Datum.

Deadlines and third-party opposition

The extract sets maximum deadlines for the execution of the project, all counted from the publication in the Official Gazette of the decree authorizing the concession modification:

  • Start of works: 2 months.
  • Completion of works: 23 months.
  • Start of service: 24 months.

Any interested party may oppose the modification within a period of 30 business days from the date of publication. The opposition must be submitted in writing to the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, be reasoned, attach all means of evidence that prove the invoked facts, and establish a domicile within the urban radius of the commune of Santiago. The publication is signed, by order of the Undersecretary of Telecommunications, by Steven Andrés Wilson Pavez, Head of the Concessions Division (S).

The projected tower is added to the passive infrastructure that telecommunications companies lease to deploy antennas in the Metropolitan Region, and its installation in Estación Central directly affects the residents of the Vista Hermosa sector, who have 30 business days to express their position before the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications.
