Tormes approves new cemetery fee: niches at 850 euros

The City Council of San Lorenzo de Tormes has finalized the modification of Fiscal Ordinance No. 8 regarding the Cemetery Fee, which sets the price for niches at 850 euros and columbariums at 500 euros. The agreement was adopted by the Corporation in the Ordinary Session of April 11, 2026, and became final as no written claims or allegations were submitted to the City Council. The resolution is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ávila on September 17, 2026, under Number 1857/26, within the Local Administration section.

The agreement and its processing

The modification affects the ordinance regulating the fee for municipal cemetery services and reaches its final phase without any registered neighborhood opposition. The published text indicates that the rest of the ordinance’s articles remain unchanged, meaning the change is concentrated in the tariff of Article 3. Article 3 maintains the nature of the services as the taxable base of the fee, while the tax quota is determined by the application of the tariff. The approved amounts are as follows:

• Niches for the interment of one coffin and two ash urns for 75 years: 850.00 euros.
• Columbariums for three urns: 500.00 euros.

The assignment of a niche requires a prior request to the City Council and is resolved according to the order of requests, contingent upon the payment of the fee into the municipal account. The right of use extends, in the case of niches, for a period of 75 years.
