Tomelloso puts swimming pool and terrace fees out for public exhibition
Por FactBox Admin

The Tomelloso City Council has opened a 30-business-day public exhibition period to modify two of its tax ordinances: the one regulating the fee for swimming pool, court, and other municipal facility services, and the one taxing the occupation of public-use land by tables and chairs for profit-making purposes. The provisional approval agreement was adopted by the corporation’s Plenary in an ordinary session on October 21, 2026, and is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 207, dated Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in announcement number 3463 (page 15).
Two ordinances and a single procedure
The plenary agreement includes, “among others,” two points that directly affect municipal taxation regarding sports facilities and the private use of public domain:
- Provisional approval, if applicable, of the modification of the Tax Ordinance regulating the fee for the provision of swimming pool, court, and other municipal facility services.
- Provisional approval, if applicable, of the modification of the Tax Ordinance regulating the fee for the occupation of public-use land by tables and chairs for profit-making purposes.
Both texts are processed jointly and under the same calendar. The announcement does not yet detail the resulting rates, which will be those appearing in the final wording of each ordinance once the allegations period has closed.
Thirty business days to file allegations
The public information period is 30 business days and is counted “from the day following the publication in the Official Gazette of the Province,” meaning from October 28, 2026. During this period, interested parties may:
- Examine the modification file for both tax ordinances.
- Submit any claims they deem appropriate.
The publication in the BOP number 207, dated October 27, 2026, is what activates the count; therefore, the formal opening of the procedure is linked to that date and not to the plenary session of October 21.
What happens if there are no claims
The announcement details the itinerary following the public exhibition period. Once the deadline has expired, “the local corporation will adopt the appropriate final agreements,” resolving the claims submitted and approving the final wording of the ordinances, their repeal, or the modifications referred to in the provisional agreement.
Additionally, a fast-track route is established: in the event that no claims have been submitted, “the agreement, until then provisional, shall be understood as definitively adopted, without the need for a plenary agreement.” The announcement appears signed by the Mayor’s Office and by the Head of the B.O.P. Section, Juan Luis Cuadros Campo, dated October 26, 2026, with secure verification code JN6Pn9yitGKmWfSN+iZ7.
Impact on hospitality and users of municipal facilities
The modification affects two groups with a daily presence in the municipality. The fee for the occupation of public land by tables and chairs for profit is paid by hospitality establishments that install outdoor seating on sidewalks or squares; the fee for swimming pools, courts, and other municipal facilities is applied to users of the city council’s sports and bathing facilities.
The procedure arrives in October, with the terrace calendar already underway, and leaves open the possibility that the final amounts will be known without the need for a new plenary pronouncement if no objections are filed. Interested parties have until the close of 30 business days to review the file and, if applicable, file a claim.
