Tomelloso convoca el XIII Concurso de Escaparatismo con 1.500 euros en premios

The Tomelloso City Council has announced the 13th edition of the Window Dressing Competition, an initiative through which it recognizes the work of the municipality’s service sector and will distribute 1,500 euros in prizes among the highest-rated shop windows. The summary of the call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 207, dated October 27, 2026, with the identifier BDNS 937704 and announcement number 3461. The application period opens the day after said publication and closes on December 9, 2026.

The call is supported by articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of the General Subsidies Law 38/2003, of November 17, which require the publication of a summary of the full text in the National Subsidies Database. The full text and its annexes are available in the National Subsidies Advertising System, in accordance with the Resolution of December 10, 2015, of the General State Comptroller, published in the BOE number 299, of December 15, 2015.

At the municipal level, the call is governed by the General Regulatory Ordinance of the bases for the granting of subsidies of the Tomelloso City Council, published in the BOP of Ciudad Real on April 27, 2009. The declared objective is to recognize the service sector’s effort to keep the shop windows of their establishments attractive and, thereby, improve the commercial image of the municipality.

A competition open to all businesses with a shop window

All entrepreneurs in the service sector who have an open establishment in Tomelloso and have shop windows open to the public may apply. The call does not establish any limitation based on the type of activity or the business owner.

This means that both retail stores and hospitality establishments or other service activities can participate, provided that their premises are located within the municipal district and maintain a shop window visible from the public road. The only condition is that the establishment must be open within the municipality.

Three prizes that cannot be awarded to the same owner

The financial endowment is distributed across three categories, with a trophy for each awarded shop window:

  • First prize: 800 euros and a trophy per shop window, along with a specific quarterly dissemination campaign for this business on the digital totems.
  • Second prize: 400 euros and a trophy per shop window.
  • Third prize: 300 euros and a trophy per shop window.

The rules expressly state that the prizes cannot coincide in the same awarded owner, so that the distribution is spread among three different businesses.

The first prize includes, in addition to the cash amount, a quarterly advertising campaign on municipal digital platforms, a dissemination channel that extends the visibility of the winning establishment beyond the duration of the contest itself.

Application period open until December 9

The application period begins the day following the publication of the summary in the BOP, that is, October 28, 2026, and ends on December 9, 2026.

Interested parties should consult the full text of the call and its annexes, where the formal requirements and required documentation are detailed, at the electronic address of the National Subsidy Advertising System linked to file 937704. The summary published in the BOP bears the signature of the Section Head of the Official Provincial Gazette, Juan Luis Cuadros Campo, dated October 26, 2026.

A storefront as a commercial showcase

For small and medium-sized businesses in Tomelloso, the call represents a means of promotion with municipal backing in a context of increasing competition from large platforms and commercial formats located away from the urban center. The competition shifts the focus to an element that the City Council itself considers decisive for the commercial image of the municipality.

With 1,500 euros in cash divided among three prizes and a quarterly campaign on digital totems as an added incentive, the contest rewards both the investment in the establishment’s image and the ability to attract foot traffic. The window for registration extends until December 9, 2026.
