Tomelloso opens the Christmas balcony competition with 1,400 euros in prizes

The Tomelloso City Council has announced a contest to promote the city’s Christmas atmosphere through the decoration of balconies and windows of private homes. The call is published as an extract in the Official Gazette of the Province of Ciudad Real number 201, dated Monday, October 19, 2026, with the identifier BDNS 935492 and announcement number 3369. The registration period will remain open until Thursday, December 3, 2026.

A contest open to all residents

Any adult residing within the municipality of Tomelloso may participate in the competition, as stated in the rules of the announcement. The declared objective is to encourage individual citizen participation in the town’s Christmas atmosphere through the decoration of balconies and windows of private dwellings.

The call is governed by the rules approved by resolution of the Mayor’s Office of the Tomelloso City Council, published on the municipal notice board on October 15, 2026. The mayor of the town is Javier Navarro Muelas.

Six prizes with IRPF withholding

The announcement establishes a total of six awards, to which the appropriate IRPF (Personal Income Tax) withholdings will be applied:

• First prize: 500 euros, with a 19% withholding.
• Second prize: 350 euros, with a 19% withholding.
• Third prize: 250 euros.
• Fourth prize: 150 euros.
• Fifth prize: 100 euros.
• Sixth prize: 50 euros.

In total, the competition distributes 1,400 euros in prizes among the highest-rated decorations.

How and when to register

The registration deadline ends on Thursday, December 3, 2026. Applications shall be submitted to the Entry Registry of the Tomelloso City Council or through any of the means provided for in Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

Interested parties must use the standardized application form included as Annex I of the call and attach a photocopy of their DNI or NIF. The extract is disseminated in accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies.
