Teruel announces 30,000 euros in grants for therapies for young people with disabilities

The Teruel City Council has published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Teruel (number 175, dated September 14, 2026) the public call for grants aimed at people up to 25 years of age with a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 5% who receive therapeutic treatments. The call, identified by number 2026-2650 and registered in the National Grants Database with the identifier BDNS 928804, has a total maximum amount of 30,000 euros.

The call is published in accordance with articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Law on Subsidies, and its full text can be consulted in the National Grants Database. The document is signed by the mayor-president, Ms. María Emma Buj Sánchez, dated September 10, 2026.

Object and purpose of the aid

The purpose of the grant is to finance therapies received by people up to 25 years of age who suffer from some type of disability, in order to achieve the maximum functionality of their physical, sensory, mental, or intellectual capacities, as well as to prevent or delay the progression and worsening of the disability situation. This aims to improve the personal autonomy and quality of life of the beneficiaries and promote their social inclusion.

The eligible therapies must have been carried out between January 1, 2026, and November 15, 2026.

Beneficiary requirements

Persons who meet the following requirements may obtain the status of beneficiaries:

• Have a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 5%.
• Have been born between January 1, 2001, and December 31, 2026.
• Be registered in the municipality of Teruel and have legal residence in Spain for a minimum of one year prior to the date of publication of the call; in the case of children under one year, this requirement must be met by at least one of the parents or legal guardians.
• Be up to date with their payment obligations to the Municipal Treasury, the Autonomous Community Treasury, the State Treasury, and Social Security.
• Not fall under any of the circumstances provided for in article 13.2 of Law 38/2003.

Amount and submission deadline

The amount to be granted to each beneficiary may not exceed 100% of the eligible expenses, with a minimum limit of 30 euros and a maximum of 1,000 euros per beneficiary. Applications shall be submitted using the standardized forms provided by the City Council through the grants section of its website or at the Municipal Social Services Center.

The submission period is twenty business days starting from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Teruel; if the final day coincides with a non-working day, it shall be understood as extended to the next business day.

Regulatory Framework

The regulatory bases are governed by the General Regulatory Ordinance of the Grant Award Bases of the Teruel City Council, initially approved by the Plenary Council on July 7, 2025, and whose final approval was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Teruel No. 168, on September 5, 2025, entering into force on September 29, 2025.

This call represents a direct opportunity for families in the municipality of Teruel with children or wards with disabilities, by allowing them to finance therapeutic treatments that promote the autonomy and social inclusion of young people, in a context where access to these therapies is key to the quality of life of people with disabilities.
