Tarifa urgently calls for taxi driver aptitude tests

Por FactBox Admin

The Tarifa City Council has announced the aptitude tests for obtaining the Municipal Taxi Driver’s License corresponding to the second call of 2026, through an announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz number 166, dated August 28, 2026. The call is being processed via an urgent procedure, which reduces the procedural deadlines by half.

The decision is based on the Mayoral Resolution No. 2026/2889, dated August 6, 2026, which approves the call. The announcement, signed by the Mayor-President José Santos Perea, is published under official reference No. 267.154 and is addressed to all applicants for the local taxi sector.

Urgent Processing

The procedure has been declared as urgent processing for reasons of public interest and service necessity, in accordance with Article 33 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. Consequently, the process deadlines are reduced by half.

To be admitted to the tests, applicants must fully comply with the conditions and requirements established in the Municipal Taxi Ordinance as of the date the application submission period ends.

Deadline and Submission of Applications

Applications to take part in the exam shall be addressed to the Mayor-President and should preferably be submitted through the City Council’s Electronic Office or via the General Registry, within the reduced period of seven (7) business days, counting from the day following the publication of the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Cádiz.

The documentation that must mandatorily accompany the registration application is as follows:

  • Photocopy of a valid DNI, NIE, or Passport.
  • Photocopy of a valid Class B Driving License.

Failure to present these certificates within the indicated period will result in the automatic loss of rights derived from the aptitude test.

Relevance for Applicants

This second call of 2026 offers a new opportunity for those wishing to join the taxi service of Tarifa, a sector with a demand for qualified drivers. The urgent nature of the procedure requires interested parties to act quickly, as the seven-business-day deadline is significantly shorter than usual. Applicants are recommended to prepare their documentation in advance and submit the application as soon as possible to avoid losing the rights derived from the test.
